Looking to bolster their bullpen, the Rockies acquired reliever Jorge Julio from the Florida Marlins Sunday in exchange for Byung-Hyun Kim.
The trade represents a change of scenery for two pitchers who had both struggled this season. Julio, a one-time closer in Arizona who was traded to the Marlins on March 26, is 0-2 with a 12.45 ERA. Kim is 1-2 with a 10.50 ERA and has spent the past three weeks in Triple-A on a rehab assignment.
Kim was unhappy about going on the disabled list, but used the time to audition for scouts. He switched to agent Scott Boras two days ago in hopes of facilitating a trade.
