Also, a sweep here would be huge, if our pitching is just a tiny bit good and consistent the whole series we could easily sweep this team.

Well we know Edwin and Verlander will give us a great chance to win. Let's hope we see something positive from Galarraga and Willis. Having our bats liven up some more would be nice as well. If we can get 3 out of 4, I'd be happy. A sweep would make me estatic.

I believe after this series, we go back home for a couple. Winning 5 out of 7 on the road sure would be nice.

I'll be very happy w/ 3 of 4, considering that we're throwing our two 'who knows?' guys the first two games.

I can't remember feeling this confident about our 1-2-3 starters in, well, forever. Morris, Petry, and Tanana never made me feel this good -- if that's even accurate.

I know what you mean... I see Verlander, Jackson and Porcello listed and I expect wins out of them. I don't think I've ever been this confident about three starting pitchers period for the Tigers. I've liked three pitchers, but never thought everytime they would go out that they would keep us under a couple runs through 7-8 innings.

I'm hoping Willis continues to get better and I would like to see Galarraga work through whatever is bothering him. Even though I think he'll be the one to be let go when (*if) Bondo gets back healthy.

Tigers really have some great younger pitchers.... and a really bright future if they stay on track.

I realize a team that scores 5.5 runs a game isn't going to score 5 or 6 every night, but this offense is upsetting me, particularly since we appear to have the pitching to contend this year.

Magglio needs to hit soon. Guillen needs to come back AND start hitting.

I had a rotten feeling this one would be a letdown series. Prediction looks good so far.

One run in exchange for a double play.

Good deal when you're tied. Absolute **** deal when you're down by 6 in the last 3rd of the game.

Come'on, Inge, gotta give us better than that.

To be fair, Inge made that play when O's were only up 1-0. Maybe he could have gotten a double play, maybe not. He got the sure out and prevent them from scoring another one. Willis gave up the grand slam two batters later.

It was a just a poor effort all around for the Tigers. The offense wasn't doing anything, Dontrelle looked like last years Dontrelle, and even our defense fell asleep. Just disgusting to watch.

They better get it together tonight and tomorrow and pull out a couple wins.

It was a close third game, but Tigers did enough to get the win. 3 homeruns in the game (two from Clete Thomas), so get your free Arby's roastbeef sandwich today!!

Let's hope Edwin and our offense can close this series with a tie.

Edwin threw a 2-hitter through 8 innings and got his 5th win of the season. Rodney got the save. Granderson homered, his 13th of the season.

Tigers ended up going 4-7 on their road trip. Not too shabby at all.

Got Red Sox next at home.... first up, Porcello.

^I worry a lot about the pitching in that series.

Kind of odd, the Red Sox have a number of guys not playing very well at all, but they're still winning games.

Jeez, I knew Ortiz was off to a lousy start, but I didn't realize he's been THAT awful. He's batting a .185 with only one homer.

Their starting pitching hasn't been spectacular, either. Guys like Ellsbury, Youkilis, and Bay are making that team go now. Naturally, Pedrioa has been great as well. Once their pitching gets going they should be near the top.

I know they spend a lot of money, but I'm impressed with the way the Red Sox team is run. They've done a great job transitioning away from guys like Manny, Pedro, Schilling, Ortiz, etc. They have stayed competitive while transitioning to a completely different nucleus. The Pistons could take a lesson...

In the AP article after the game, it was stated that Verlander-Jackson-Porcello have combined for 14 wins in may.... the most wins a 1-2-3 starting lineup for the Tigers have done in one month in 16 years.

I mean, a 1-2-3 like that can carry a franchise. Of course, they have to keep it up....

Of course.... I don't expect them to keep up their may numbers for the rest of the season, but they've shown that they can play at a high level and give the Tigers a GREAT chance to win games. Now we just need to find a solid 4-5 combo and get our offense consistent.

Big series coming up w/ the Red Sox. Given the rotation, 1 of 3 is acceptable and 2 of 3 would be outstanding.

I think 2 of 3 would be good. Winning series is all we need to maintain to stay at the top of the AL Central.
