With trade rumors starting to heat up, i thought it was time to start a thread for all possible scenarios.
First up, According to wiretap, Tigers are interested in Corey Hart from the Brewers. Hart is an OF and it makes me question the interest. We have four solid outfielders in Granderson, Maggz, Anderson and Clete. We also have Carlos Guillen and Marcus Thames rehabbing. Why would the Tigers need an 8th outfielder? Are Thames/Guillen done? Will DD trade one of our young guys (Anderson, Clete, Raburn)?

Hmm.
Yeah, I was puzzled by that as well. Outfield is just about the last place I'd be looking to add anyone right now, and thats even with Thames/Guillen hurting.
Makes me wonder what Maggs' future with the team is, and also about Guillen/Thames. Of course, it also could be entirely untrue.
I don't see Clete or Anderson being traded (they've been decent and are reasonably priced), and Granderson isn't going anywhere.

Re: Trade rumblings and actions
I know Dombrowski was trying desperately to move Raburn before the season started. But I don't see why he'd try to swap him with another outfielder. I know Mario and Rod have been saying with actually saying, that Thames and Guillen aren't rehabbing as quickly as the team hoped, but we still have Clete, Josh, Maggz and Curtis who are doing more than just holding down the fort.

I think he would be a replacement for Maggs, sadly, I like Maggs...

Re: Trade rumblings and actions
What about Matt Holliday? He's looking for a big payday in the off-season, but trade Maggz for him? I think this team needs to put nothing but speedsters around Cabrera and we need to utilize the size of our ballpark. Ramon Santiago, Josh Anderson, and Adam Everett have been big successes for us, we should look to add more players like them.
I would think Holliday is perfect because he hits for power, and can run a bit. He can play left and Anderson and Clete can platoon in right.

I like Holliday, if we can get him for a good value. Comerica is a pitcher's park, and Holliday has struggled ever since leaving Coors.

Re: Trade rumblings and actions
For some reason though, I've thought Holliday could be a guy who could thrive in just how big our park is. He's an aggressive base runner, and he's got speed, if he can hit to the gaps out there, he could be hittin doubles and triples all day.
We don't need guys with a whole lot of power, we need guys with speed. I love Maggz, Polonco, and Guillen, but they just aren't producing like the old days and we could use some small ball baseball players and some speedsters. This is why Josh Anderson was such a great pickup.

Hmm.
I still don't see us as buyers this trade season, except maybe for a reliever.

An idea, though it's not a trade, is to pick up Glavin and see how he would work in the bullpen. I think he'd be dominant for and inning or two and, when our starts get pulled early in the game, which they will often, we could have him working quite a few innings and not go through four or five relievers like we seem to do a lot. If Glavin would accept the role, I think it would be great for us.
