Our defense was horrible. Thames has no business as anything other than a DH. Everrett was missing numerous plays. We could have won the game, but too many mistakes cost us. I hope the Tigers don't play anymore games on ESPN, they always lose when they do.

Hopefully we can at least get two out of the last three.

& I hope Cabrera's wrist injury doesn't linger, like David Ortiz's did...

I hated to see Porcello thrown from the game, but I had no problem with anything he did including slamming Youkilis to the ground. You can gaurantee that his teammates respect him even more now especially Cabrera.

^ I'm sure he'll get a good talking to by the Tigers FO and maybe a punishment from the league, but IMO, he did the right thing.

Porcello suspended 5 games, he'll appeal. Edwin was fined for his "aggression" during the melee. Give me a break.

Wow, this is the absolute worst series I've ever watched...at least in the last few years.

^What do you expect. Three times our player has been hit, to the point where Cabrera is injured. And yet it's our pitcher(s) who were disciplined.

You know the Red Sox had to do something to win a series. Taking out one of our good pitchers and our best hitter is the only way they are going to compete.

League won't do anything about it during a Red Sox/Yankees series.

That fight was still exciting as hell. Especially the way Porcello took him down, looked like a pro wrestler taking someone out with an arm drag. Otherwise, this series has indeed stunk. At least need Verlander to win today.

man Verlander is a hoss. Seriously, hitting 100 in the 8th, throwing over 120...damn. What a stud

We certainly needed this and it makes me feel a bit better. Still we should have split had Rick not gotten tossed

Honestly, this series as a whole definitely didn't fill me with confidence as far as our ability to hang with the heavyweights in this league, should we make the playoffs.

I just have a hard time believing this team, overall, is good enough.

I think we're fine. Porcello got tossed, Cabrera got injured, Galarraga was sick and we didn't get swept.

We had two games where we had to relay on Chris Lambert and Zach Miner to face the Red Sox. To say we were at a severe disadvantage would be an understatement.

This series was ugly no doubt. But I hardly think it has barrings on playoff aspirations. JMO.
