Your location....You are stating you are Mega Man in it. I gave an anecdote, albeit off topic, (but properly labeled as such) relevant to Mega Man.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Yes, but you actually dressed up like Mega Man? This is something I gotta see.

Re: Granderson, Jackson dealt
Chris Reina has an article up discussing the trade:
http://baseball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ ... _way_deal/
Gives us a B for the deal...about what i would say as well. For us he says
Im gunna play optimist for a moment:
Schlereths numbers impress me. That ERA and the Ks in the minors are pretty solid. A year in the minors for him, ready to set up Ryan Perry the closer in 2011?
Coke will be the lefty outta the pen for us. Cool.
Scherzer becomes our third SP, which is crazy good. We have three very young, very hard throwing starters now. And 5 years on Scherzers deal?? Crazy good! Like i said earlier, some very good coaching to rein in that arm and use it to its full potential and whoa boy
Jackson is truly the wild card. Is he, as HK put it, the next Tori Hunter? Or just a slightly better DeWayne Wise? Im gunna go with the former. First, hes 22, so still a kid. He hits for average, which in the minors especially is really important. His power will come as he matures, but i dont see the Grandy 30 homers for him, maybe a 15-ish guy. But if he sprays the ball all over the field, and steals some bags (25 SBs in the minors), he strikes me as Granderson lite (just more contact, less power). And playing in Comerica you need a very good defensive CF, and it sounds like he is very good with the glove and with his arm. I could see him as out leadoff hitter in a few years.
Im warming to this trade more and more...

The Tigers will save a considerable amount of money in losing Granderson, while acquiring a stud arm in Scherzer. Scherzer had a 3.87 FIP while striking out 174 batters in 170.1 innings. He is just 25 and will be under Detroit's control for five seasons. Along with Justin Verlander and Rick Porcello, Scherzer will give Detroit a frontline that can compare to New York's and Boston's in any given season.
Austin Jackson doesn't project to be anybody's version of an All-Star, but his skill set should work well in spacious Comerica Park, where he will cover a lot of ground defensively and hit to the gaps for a lot of doubles and triples.
Coke will be in the MLB for another 15 seasons as a left specialist, but that is what he is. He struck out 49 batters in 60.0 innings this season. Schlereth was the 26th overall pick in 2008 and had a 0.98 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 27.2 minor league innings this season. He struggled in his 18.1 MLB innings, but he did show some of that strikeout ability. Schlereth is clearly a late inning reliever and may even be a reliable closer.
Im gunna play optimist for a moment:

Awful, just awful.
We are lucky to be getting good prospects out of the deal.
Simply too much dead weight salary on this team....

My grades for this trade.
Yankees: Star
Tigers: Smiley Face
Diamondbacks: Heart
This is one of those new-aged schools that believes the child's psyche is too fragile to handle criticism.

Admittedly I don't know much about the prospects that we're getting, but I am kinda pissed. Not because I think they suck, it's because we just gave the ****ing Yankees, of all teams, one of our best players.
Who's contract expires after next season? What would be our payroll afterwards? I can't wait until we can start spending again

I believe that, among others:
Magz
Guillen
Robertson
Dontrelle
Everett
all expire. Someone add to it or correct me if i am wrong. I even heard we are still paying for Sheffields contract...true? Either way, we will have an assload of money freed up after next season

Re: Granderson, Jackson dealt
Ironic that those were actually two of our relatively cost-effective pieces.
Like I said, I get angry when I think about all of the dead weight there is sitting on this team.
Oh well. Could be worse. It could be Cabrera and Verlander leaving....

I really didn't want to pay Jackson, though, so I'm glad he's gone. But yeah, when you look at the contracts of Nate Robertson, Carlos Guillen and Dontrelle Willis, you get pissed.
Though there are rumors of a Milton Bradley/Carlos Guillen swap, which I'll gladly take.
Also looking at Juan Pierre.

I'm not sad to see Jackson gone, but I sure hate losing Granderson. I just love the guy...very versatile and solid. I really hope the prospects pay off in the end. God knows we need a closer, so I hope that works out.

I was reading on Mlive that the Tigers think Jackson will be the starter in Center on opening day. Good!

Milton Bradley are you ****ing kidding me? The guy was just cancerous last year. It looked like he didn't even care what he was doing last year. Last year, his numbers were way down compared to his career averages. Plus, his defense from what I've heard is terrible. I'm not saying Guillen was much better, but at least he isn't a cancer and actually looked good after his injury. Bradley would be a much better fit on the Mets.

Man, Red Wings haven't been to good, Pistons are in rebuild mode, now the Tigers are sinking and if these prospects don't pan out, who knows whats going to happen with them. That leaves the Lions, God be with you Matthew Stafford.

Milton Bradley is still a good baseball player. And he was only a cancer to the Cubs because he doesn't like the Cub's personnel that is in charge, that wouldn't be a problem for a new team since we don't have any Cubs here that have "wronged" him in his mind. In fact, if we traded for him, he would probably have great rapport for helping him get off of a team he despises and showing some trust and faith in him. I'm a team guy too, but you don't see me being PC when talking about how bad I think Leyland is. It's the duty of a good team member to hold the higher ups accountable when they are performing reprehensible behavior. You just better be darn sure to be correct if you call somebody out if you are the subordinate, and Bradley feels he was justified.
