Post#1 » by kellmellus50 » Fri Jul 2, 2010 12:42 pm

Schlereth came to Detroit from Arizona along with starter Max Scherzer, while reliever Phil Coke and center fielder Austin Jackson came from New York in the big offseason trade that sent Curtis Granderson to the Yankees and Edwin Jackson to the Diamondbacks

Schlereth was 1-2 with a 2.83 ERA in 28 appearances for Triple-A Toledo this season. He had 45 strikeouts and 26 walks in 35 innings.

A first-round pick by Arizona in 2008, Schlereth, 24, pitched in 21 games for the Diamondbacks last season.

the Tigers will call up right-handed reliever Ryan Perry from Triple-A Toledo today.

Jason Beck, the Tigers reporter for MLB.com reported the news through his Twitter account.

Beck did not have any word on whom the Tigers would send to minors to make room for Perry

To create room on the club’s 25-man roster, the Tigers optioned the contract of right-handed pitcher Casey Fien to Triple-A Toledo.

that was short lived. All your buildup, i felt like it needed more when it actually happened.

Tigers starter Armando Galarraga temporarily sent to Toledo; hot reliever Robbie Weinhardt recalled

DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers starter Armando Galarraga was sent to the minors Tuesday night after allowing three runs on 10 hits in 6 2/3 innings against the Baltimore Orioles. It was the most hits he has allowed in one game this season, but it went down in the books as a quality start.

Galarraga had an 8.79 ERA over his past three starts and needed a good outing. However, his trip to Toledo has more to do with convenience and a team need than with performance

I'm not sure it's fair to say who they should have "keeped" with that small a sampling size

The Florida Marlins let Nate Robertson go, and within 10 days he could be a free agent.

However, it will be a major surprise if the Tigers show any interest in re-signing Robertson once he's on the open market

I really hope Nate catches on somewhere, not Detroit. I kind of see him as a middle reliever down the road.

Fien, got designated for assigment. Not good, but considering how that played out for him in the preseason..not bad either.

Also, the Billy Buckner-tiger Era has ended.

Return to Detroit Tigers
