The only highlight from yesterdays game was the shortest double I have ever seen. Aside from that, it was painful.

And that "Strike 1" to Miggy when he had 3 balls really pissed me off, should have walked in a run there.

Extremely frustrating start to the season, and unfortunately things really seem to be deteriorating rather than getting better.

The bullpen stinks and this team never seems to get hits or runs when they need them.

Once every few games we'll completely go off on a pitcher having a rough day and score way more runs than we need, but every other day its a struggle just to get more than one run.

I really don't know what the solution is, either.

For some positive news, Nick Castellanos is tearing it up in the minors. I'm very excited for him, even though he is a few years out. Read and enjoy

I'm betting we move him at the deadline, considering we have 3B locked up. We might move him to right or left, but I see the Tigers going all in at the deadline for a 2B and pitching help.

To come back to this....

Castellanos is also sticking with the Tigers and won't be used as a trade chip. Surprisingly, it's other people, such as Cabrera and Prince Fielder, who have less certain futures, as absurd as it sounds when the 2012 Tigers' offense has been built around Cabrera and Fielder at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots in Jim Leyland's lineup.

Castellanos is a middle-of-the-order hitter who, to repeat, will play third base. That means Cabrera, who is under contract through 2015, will either return to first base or be used as a designated hitter when Castellanos relocates to Detroit no later than 2014.

If it fails to be Fielder — and any team's interest in him, in this view, could be fanciful — the Tigers will look to trade Cabrera in a couple of years, when he has immense value at age 31, and when he still could be expected to bring a whopping return.

Couple things to take away.

1) The Tigers appear to really like Castellanos and want to keep him at third. I agree 100%

2) In a couple years trading Prince or Cabby could be an option. I would be OK with shopping Cabrera truthfully. With 1st and 3rd wrapped up then, we assume, Cabrera would net us an unbelievable package of prospects and players.

I really like Quintin Berry. I'd love to keep him up as the 4th OF. We need speed badly and he provides it.

Having Nick and Turner as our hyped prospects leads me to think me might swing them for a big name, similiar to how we moved Maybin and Miller for Miggy. Now if it had the same results, I'd be even more pumped.

It'll be an intersting situation to watch for sure.

Tigers have the lowest team batting average in the majors with the bases loaded: .108 (4-for-37). Last season, the Tigers hit .328 with the bases loaded, the fifth-highest mark in the majors.

Castellanos promoted to AA

"He is hitting .400 at this time, and we felt it was the right time to move him," Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski said via text message Tuesday morning. "He is ready for the next challenge."

Castellanos leads the Florida State League in batting average, hits (87), total bases (119), on-base percentage (.461), slugging percentage (.553) and OPS (1.014). He is tied for second in doubles (17) and third in runs scored (37).

This is a big step for him and I'm excited to see how he responds. If he could just get those power numbers up...

Castellanos promoted to AA just a matter of time to reach the big leagues, but first you have to trade fielder to make room for him.

Fielder isn't getting traded. Give up on that notion. You don't trade a .300+ BA/30+ HR/100+ RBI guy to make room for a minor leaguer.

No, you certainly don't. It's a silly argument to have.

First game in AA Nick was 2/3 with an RBI and a 2b. Nice start!

Losing to the Indians and not making Ublado throw pitches last night was sickening

Ok, then trade Caby soon or later someone has to go to make room for him.unless you turn him into a second baseman.

If Fielder and Cabby must stay, and if Fielder and Cabby refuse to play DH, then perhaps Nick goes to 2B. Or maybe he can DH yet Cabby still fields over him. lol

No kidding. Tiger fans were present and vocal the whole series. Given how many people from Michigan move to Chicago, it's no shock

That's an even worse argument than trading Fielder.

It occurred to me after watching last night's game what bugs me the most about this team--they show almost no heart. If they score 5 runs, they give up 6. If they give up 3 runs, they score 2. They'll knock out 4 or 5 runs in the first inning and never score another one. If they have a one run lead going into the ninth you think, "They're going to f**k this up and lose."

1 game below .500 with the Twins coming into town for a 3 game stint, we NEED to sweep them.

No heart shown AGAIN. Score 3 runs, give up 6. Score 3 runs to tie, give up 2 more. Roll over and die, at home. Big guns get hits and keep their average/RBI's up when the bases are empty, don't do dick when the bases are loaded--REPEATEDLY.

NO HEART!!!!
