Dave Dombrowski has came out pretty plainly and said what is going down this offseason. Here are some of the highlights, full story here http://www.mlive.com/tigers/index.ssf/2 ... isc_1.html

* Damon, Laird and Bonderman are gone. Cant complain there

* Avila will be the starting catcher (assuming all is well). Sweet

* Inge has been offered a multi year deal (damn)

* We are looking at picking up Peralta's 7 million extension (I'm pretty indifferent)

* We (obviously) wont be picking up Mags extension but want him back for cheaper (wish he was gone)

* Phil Coke will be a starter in 2010/11

Heres to hoping we win the Carl Crawford sweepstakes!

Well they didn't say the Inge deal was for any high amount of money. What if it is extremely low, him signing for a small amount could be a good value play. Just trying to see the brightside, either way can't really judge fairly until we know the amount. Also the cost savings of Magglio could be a curse in disguise. He was a money hitter his whole career and he'll continue to be good, players like that you need to take you into a postseason contention or sell them for a profit and we are about to lose him for nothing. That's not going to make this team better and it's going to be a big hit to our lineup. And Perralta... well it wouldn't be as much of a challenge if we didn't start signing up fresh guys that can't help us get to the next level yet eat up big bundles of millions.

^ Apparently, Inge signed a 2 yr extention for not much money, and an option for a 3rd year.

Magglio says he wants to remain a Tiger. If he's truthful, he'll agree to a reasonable deal. He's not worth $20+ million/yr anymore, especially when he misses months at a time with injury.

Cutting Laird and Bondo aren't surprising. I'm surprised the Tigers didn't even offer Damon a vet min offer or something small. He didn't have a good season last season. He won't sign for much. He'd make a nice part time player off the bench as a lefty.

Word around is that the Tigers are very interested in Carl Crawford. Will they offer enough to compete with Boston and New York? Maybe cutting contracts with Bondo, Willis, Magglio, etc have been to open salary for Crawford.

Forget Mags....go after Dunn and Crawford and call it a day.

Crawford would be perfect. He and Ajackson provide an insane 2/3 of a defensive outfield. And he is a #2 hitter with speed.....exactly, exactly what we need. A first inning of Jackson-Crawford-Cabrera is going to give every pitcher heartburn

CF - Jackson
LF - Crawford
1b - Cabrera
DH - Dunn
RF - Boesch
SS - Peralta (assuming we re-sign him)
3b - Inge
C - Avila
2b - Sizemore/Rhymes/Santiago

Super utility - Raburn

Tigers didn't pick up Peralta's option. They want to re-sign him but for less money. Seems the Tigers are really cutting back salary.... looks like they want to spend. I could see them going after Crawford and maybe someone else.

Can't wait to see some moves getting done... well, some good moves getting done.

I want Crawford, Werth or Dunn in that order. I'd rather have Crawford at leadoff though, I have a feeling Jackson will regress a bit this year. He needs to really cut back on the k's, he got really lucky last season.

I'm happy that we're looking to spend. Just no more Dontrelle Willis contracts please
