The Tigers have traded infielder Brent Dlugach to Boston for cash and a player to be named.

They've outrighted Eddie Bonine, Max St. Pierre, Jeff Frazier and Jay Sborz to Toledo (so they're off the 40).

Bonine was eligible to become a free agent immediately and did. The others can become free agents on Saturday.

They usually don't end up finishing these kinds of deals for a while. Wikipedia says within 6 months.

Eddie Bonine is officially an ex-Tiger.

Fox Sports reported Friday afternoon that the right-hander had agreed to terms with the Phillies on a minor league deal. MLB.com followed up by reporting the Tigers made a "last-minute push" to bring him back, but couldn't match the other offer.

I'd rather have him than Miner.
