Baker is going to the Tigers for two Players to Be Named Later. As you know, PTBNLs are generally not top prospects
Could be Raburn's days are numbered. His second half is not getting off to a very good start.
Tigers had claimed Baker off waivers and were able to work out a deal with Chicago. Baker is a good fit for Detroit against left-handed pitching. He's a .270 hitter. can play infield or outfield positions.
The fat lady has been warming up for 4 months...She appears to be finally getting ready to sing her swan song for Mr. Rayburn.
OH NO, Raburn is going to lead the Tigers to the Promised Land, forget about all the missed opportunities in the in the first 2/3's of the season. If you follow Leyland's logic those games don't mean anything.well somebody played a dirty joke on Leyland, they kept track of his wins and losses all year. What Leyland hasn't figured out yet , is.after game 162, is Hell all of your seasons sins have to be paid for. The games lost by paying Inge and Raburn or letting your pitchers get shellaced until the game is lost after 2 innings or so, well you understand.
Will Baker be eligible for the playoffs. ?????
After Aug. 31, players who are traded (after passing through waivers, of course) cannot be on any postseason roster. By extension, players traded before Aug. 31 are eligible for postseason play. Because of the waiver thing, most big trades tend do go down before the July 31 deadline, but August also has seen its share of blockbusters.
