Those are the games that are going to haunt them IF the chase gets close, they better not be big headed because of the recent tare they went on. Sounds like another Detroit team -.-

Edgar has been a MASSIVE bust.

Something about the AL just makes him forget how to play baseball. He's good with the Cards, signs a big deal with the Sox and starts sucking, then goes to the Braves and plays decent again, then loses his head with us.

Cabrera and Dontrelle are getting the brunt of the hate in terms of offseason busts (and they deserve it), but Edgar is absolutely awful. His offense is non-existent and his fielding isn't up to snuff, either. Id rather have Ramon Santiago out there, to be perfectly blunt.

Reminds me of the Mariners, really. They thought they had arrived when they added Beltre and Sexson.

Um, yeah.....

Hopefully our fate will be better.

I agree with every point you made, Edgar is just in a huge slump, he was at one point in the season near .300 now he's just another guy in the line up that can't hit in our "AMAZING offense that's going to score 1000 runs" as for Miguel, he's actually on pace to hit about 24 HR and 95-100 RBIs while batting around .285-.300. I'm fine with his stats in a year we're his really been under pressure, other then the WS he won, which was a "steal" he hasn't been under the type of pressure he has been this year. As for Dontrelle he's like the next Rick Ankiel for I care, I feel for the guy, he never puts his head down but I know his confidence is just not what it was a few years ago and he really needs to work on his mechanics if he has ANY chance of pitching for us again.

^I wouldn't be surprised of Dontrelle was done.

Cabrera's numbers look okay, and I might let them pass if thats all it was (though they are still a bit underwhelming and probably make him look better than he's been), but the fact that we've had to make him a first baseman and send Guillen over to third is a huge disappointment, particularly give one of the appeals of getting Edgar was the fact that we could get Guillen away from that side of the infield.

We didn't pay that absurd contract for a mediocre fielding first baseman who puts up solid numbers. We payed that amount because we were expecting an okay fielding third baseman with superstar numbers. He's being paid like a franchise player, but all he's really been is a supporting guy who still has no sense at the plate.

Does it sound like I'm expecting a lot given the pressure? Damn straight. The bar gets pretty high when you sign the type of contract Cabrera did.

Nuff said.

Funny, I came on here to vent about blowing another game against the Mariners (not grabbing a few wins here could really come back to bite us in the rear if we want any hope of doing anything) and instead just ended up with the customary rant about our offseason additions.

I again agree, I think with the "franchise player" money hes gotten, he should be able to handle the pressure...

I think the switch to put Guillen at 3rd and move Cabrera back to 1st is upsetting as well, he should be moved back to 3rd.

And the game was disgusting, couldn't get more then 2 runs, both of which, were home runs...

 at Seattle, Nate has only throw 57 pitches through 7 innings....

 at Detroit for having 6 hits and leaving them all on base. Yet, there was 9 LOB because they couldn't bring a run after the bases were loaded by walks.

It maybe just me...

But that was a HUGE win, we lose that, we're down 3 from Twins and 8.5 from Sox who both won today.

It was long and BORING though...I mean sheesh 15 innings.
