Leyland said he's letting Galarraga pitch opening day at Comerica as a reward for his play last season. I expect the rotation to get set after awhile, but Leyland is trying to get Verlander going early and Armando ready for the Tigers home opener.

Also, IIRC, he said Galarraga would be the #3 starter behind Verlander/Jackson.

Josh Anderson gets the starting LF spot in the game today and will bat 9th according to Leyland. Guillen will DH. Doesn't want Guillen messing up his hamstring on the artifical turf.

Probable rotation tonight:

CF: Curtis Granderson
2B: Placido Polanco
RF: Magglio Ordonez
1B: Miguel Cabrera
DH: Carlos Guillen
3B: Brandon Inge
Cc: Gerald Laird
SS: Adam Everett
LF: Josh Anderson

Thanks for the heads up.

The bottom 44.444% of that lineup could be pretty brutal, though. Any lineup where Inge is good enough to bat 6th worries me. Hopefully the top 55.555% will pick up the slack.

The pending loss today doesn't bother me NEARLY as much as Verlander getting absolutely shelled.

Oh well, at least CC sucked today, too. Theres always that...

Verlander just threw way too many fastballs. He had good speed on it last night and thought he could just keep throwing it by them and they started looking for it. Just disgusting to watch really.

The Tigers did start to climb their way back into it, but then Rincon gave up another 3 runs and it was over.

I did like what I saw from Anderson in LF. Kid has a ton of speed and actually saved a run from Verlander. Too bad the Jays fans decided to throw **** at him.

I also liked what I saw from Laird in the batters box. He was paitent and looked good.

Hopefully Edwin can pitch better this afternoon.

Yeah, shaky starts happen. Its extremely common, and I was ready for it given the season he had last year.

Still, a catastrophe to the level of yesterday's start was more than I bargained for. It just kept getting worse and worse.

Hey, at least the next guy can't pitch much worse!

Jackson has been lights out...

Of course, as I typed that he gave up a 1 run home run, 3-1 Tigers in eight.

That was just awful. Edwin Jackson pitched one helluva game for some bum to lose it for him. I do want to know how Jackson got credited for two runs, when only one Toronto run scored with him. He allowed the Rollen homer. Than Overbay reached because of Inge's fumble. Seay comes in, the next batter hit the ball and it was a fielders choice and they got Overbay out. The guy Edwin left on base did not score. So how is he credited for two runs?

Well at least we saw some good things from Jackson. With a game like that, he should win 15 games this year quite easily.... as long as the bullpen doesn't f*ck it up.

Inge looks good. He worked with Gene in the offseason and he came into spring with a better base approach. With his defense back at 3rd and hopefully better batting, it's one less worry.

Miguel looks amazing. I know this kid is a stud, but he's been good at 1st as well as in the batters box.

I'm hoping we get good outings out of Miner and Porcello. I also want to see Perry out there. Rincon and Lyon aren't looking to good so far.
