A solid win from Verlander would make me feel better about our pitching situation.

I'll be disappointed if he embarks on a fourth start still looking for his first win.

Verlander looked alot better in his last game, He just didn't have enough to get the win. Hopefully he builds on the last game and starts this one off hot.

i don't want to be greedy, but i'd like to see Justin, Edwin and Rick all pick up their first wins.

Anyone staying up for this one?

Not really an issue for a west coaster, but for you guys this game starts at 10pm. :o

Pays to live in California. You never have to deal with your team playing after bedtime. Of course, I DO have to deal with my team starting while I'm still working, so I guess life is a series of tradeoffs.

Good thing it's the weekend. If it's in the weekdays, I'm screwed. Why can't they start one hour earlier at least? :(

Justin had no-hitter stuff through the first 4 innings, than the Mariner hitters just found a few hits. The errors and bobbles earned most of the Seattle runs.

For the Tigers, we left alot of man on base again this game.

Cabrera with another 3 for 4 game.

Inge with a 2 rbi, single.

I hate the late starts to games. I understand the games are being played in Seattle, but couldn't they figure out a better solution than making Eastern time zoned people staying up til 1 am to watch a ball game?

In the mist of the NBA and NHL playoffs, Edwin Jackson won his first game today giving up no runs, he was simply dominate, he may have a monsterous year.

I know he only has one win but he's pitched excellent in all of his starts, I'd like too see more offense (only five runs last two games) but hey we're 1-1, let's win tomorrows and win the series.

BTW I despise late starts as well, I won't be able to watch those on weekdays till June.

Edwin finally got his first win. He was lights out. I honestly think he could have finished the game. I was worried when Rodney walked the lead off batter..... I could only imagine what was going through Edwins head during that.

I know Guillen has gotten off to a very slow start, and I think alot of it is his achilles/hamstring. He's getting what should be base hits, but he's just not quick enough to get to 1st before the out. And most of the time, it's not even close. I hate to say it, but if Carlos can't run through the bases, maybe he shouldn't play until he's healed. I really like Carlos, but there were multiple times when we have had runners in scoring position and 2 outs and Carlos just can't get himself to 1st and it ends the innings.

Our guys love hitting against Silva, which bodes well for this game. If Porcello can pitch well and keep things close until our bats come alive, he should see his first win as well.

Porcello and his future get me hard

Josh Anderson needs to play more as well. Make Guillen DH

How can you not love Porcello? In Toronto he gave up a home run and then retired Rios and Overbay consecutively. Yesterday he gave up a home run and then retired 14 straight batters. The kid just doesn't get shaken up out there. His poise on the mound is incredible. Depending on when/if Bonderman gets back, I'd rather see Miner go to pen than Porcello who looks really damn good right now.

Josh Anderson has been great for us. He's got great speed in the outfield and when he can get on base, he's a threat to steal. I know he was brought in to be a utility man, as was Santiago, but imo, both of them deserve regular burn with the team. The small ball plays with Santiago, Anderson, Laird, Inge has really helped us score some runs and get some wins.

Toronto 1-3
Rangers 3-0
White Sox 1-1
Seattle 2-1

Not too shabby to start the season.
