Well I knew game 1 was pretty much a loss to begin with. Greinke has been lights out all season. We did get the first run scored against him, but Porcello had no chance to win the game. Let's just hope the next two games go better.

Good all-around game. Miner didn't suck, Magglio finally got an extra base hit, and the bottom of our lineup is actually doing good for the expectations it had at the beginning of the season. I doubt all of those (except Magglio getting extra base hits) keeps up

Can't argue with a 9-1 win. Annnnnddddddd...... ZUMAYA MADE HIS RETURN!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOT!!!
If I'm not mistaken, the Tigers scored 3 home runs last night. So if you take the boxscore to Arby's today you get a free roast beef sandwich.

Seriously? Man, I hope they hit three home runs when I'm back in the States this summer (unless it's a limited deal).

I'm all for giving Laird a well-deserved day-off now and then, but why this game? and Sardinha had to replace him smh

And as I type that, Inge with ANOTHER home run... What the hell is happening to him?
**And Zumaya looked decent, nothing special. I only saw one inning, and he gave up just one hit. His velocity was there somewhat but it's just a small sampling size.

Tigers take the series and gain one game on the Royals. The White Sox also lost today so the Tigers have a commanding 1 game lead in the central division.
Zumaya looked good, but not 2006 great, but a whole lot better than he has looked since 2006. I think it will take time for him to get 100% but he's a much better option in the bullpen than Eddie Bonine!! WHOOOOOOTT!!
Inge has worked his ass off to improve his approach at the plate and we are seeing the results. Leyland said it started when he told Brandon last year that he'd be our everyday 3rd baseman this season. Brandon came back early in January and worked with Lloyd on a new batting stance and how to hold the bat above his head instead of behind his right arm.
Dane Sardinha isn't horrible he's just not very good. Although Matt Treanor hasn't looked that impressive either. Matt has made a couple nice plays behind the plate, but he's fumbled some plays too, not too mention doing absolutely nothing at the plate besides grounding into double plays to end innings.
Gerald Laird is going to sit day games that follow night games. Leyland has said as much. He doesn't want to put that much stress on Geralds body. I don't mind that really, but having Treanor batting 3-4 times a game is just gutwrenching to watch.
