Verlander pitched a gem, and Granderson with a game saving steal. Great game!

Verlander has pitched 3 dominant games. He's down to a 4.50 era from the 19.64 era he started the year with. 31 strikeouts, 5 walks, 1 ER in 23 innings. Let's hope he keeps this up. Hell, this is better than what he was like on 2006.
Curtis Granderson. Everyones been saying, 'Curtis doesn't make enough highlight reels to compete with Grady Sizemore'. I think he might have heard them.

Best catch of the year!!
C'mon Edwin!! come on Tigers, get Edwin some run support.

Back to back shutouts, the pitching has been nasty. Too bad we only scored 5 runs over the last 3 games, no longballs.

When your pitching does what ours has the last couple of days, you gladly deal with the relative lack of offense for a couple of games.
But yeah, a continued slump from our offense would be worrying.
Glad to be 2-0 in a stretch in which we scored 5 runs.

No doubt, also glad they could string a couple together for Edwin. He's been our most consistent pitcher but doesn't have the wins to show for it because of lack of offense.
A nice sweep today would be fun. Remember everyone, todays game is at 1 pm EST not 7 pm EST. Don't miss it!!

Sweep achieved. The Tigers' pitching has been nothing short of awesome recently. I don't know if they'll keep it up but if they do, the Tigers could definitely win the division.

Verlander looks like he finally found his groove. Galarraga has struggled his last couple outings, but he should be able to get back on track. Edwin Jackson has been better than advertised. Porcello looks like a rookie out there, but he has good stuff and I think he could help this team win if Leyland continues to show faith in him. I just hope one of Willis or Bonderman can come back healthy and give us a 5th starting pitcher.
Our bullpen has been rock solid during some stretches and down right horrible during other stretches. We just need to get them going and work the kinks out.
Our offense is my main worry right now. Our pitchers are coming through, and our defense has been outstanding, but we haven't been able to get anything going at the plate. Clete Thomas and Josh Anderson have shown up when they play and Curtis continues to tug along. Getting Ordonez going and getting Guillen back healthy is nessecary down the stretch of the season if we want to make the playoffs.
I really like this team this year. We have some problems that need to be addressed and dealt with, but if everyone gets healthy and puts some extra work in, I see no reason why the Tigers can't win the AL Central and make a nice run in the postseason.
And Let's hear it for Rick Knapp. I know we've all commented on the pitching. but not much mention has been made of our new pitching coach.
