Red Sox (29-22) at Tigers (28-21)

Post#1 » by Snakebites » Tue Jun 2, 2009 9:40 pm

Too lazy to get the whole elaborate setup going right now, but didn't want the series to start without some sort of acknowledgment.

This could be an important series for us.

First up: Porcello vs. Matsusaka

Dice-K hasn't done much of note this season. Hopefully our lineup can get into his head early and often.

I apologize for not posting the thread, I was acting in a commercial and it took forever to shoot.

If we simply win this series, I will no longer doubt if we are legitimate contenders or not. If you'd like I'll create a whole new tread with the entire lineup and pitching and etc and you can merge them.

As well as we lost the first game 5-1, our offense has been really inconsistent recently, we could of easily won this game...

Then again, Dice-K has always been effective against us...some pitchers just do that to us, no matter how bad there playing they light us up.

I'd be happy if we just win 1 of them. Not only do we have to deal with sucky starters, our offense has been way inconsistent. Only positive is that we've already used Lyon today.

Broken record from a month ago...

Our damn offense is freaking pathetic at times. Who'da thunk we'd be carried by pitching?

Pretty much.

The offense has been pretty rough, thus far.

They struggle against good pitchers. Sure, they can groove it against so-so and lousy pitchers, but against good ones they look helpless at times. Beckett hasn't gotten off to a great start, but he's a very good pitcher.

Well, at least Dontrelle threw a no-hitter...

^Lol ouch....

This series takes a little wind out of my sails, I feel like this was a test we didn't come out of looking very good.

Oh well, the season is young, and our two best pitchers weren't in this series. The offensive showing was pretty unsettling, though.

It's nice to be optoimistic, I certainly am, but good teams can win at least one game without our top pitchers. Porcello is usually good but that was a good team. And you're right, I'm not sure where the offense went but it will return next series.
