The Tigers have acquired Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners for rookie left-hander Luke French and pitching prospect Mauricio Robles.
The left-hander, who will be a free agent this offseason, is 8-6 with a 2.64 ERA this season in Seattle.

I hope Wash helps bring the championship to the Detroit fans, you guys need something good in life to overcome the bad economy. A World Series victory can give a little relief to the situation-Go Tigers!

Washburn will help to get to (and in the postseason). That's all the Tigers are worried about right now. French and Robles weren't top prospects for Detroit, so it's not a huge hit. Losing Jurrjens hurt alot.
Verlander/Jackson/Washburn/Porcello/Galarraga is a solid pitching rotation. Possibly tops in the AL. If we can get Inge, Guillen and Ordonez healthy and up to par, Detroit can go far.

SP: Armando Galarraga
RP: Nate Robertson

Congratulations! That does look like a good lineup. Washburn only pitches third though? Is that to keep Verlander and Jackson in their rhythms?

Well I think you have to keep Edwin behind Verlander. They just work well off of each other. It's no knock on Washburn. Hell, all three are top 7 in the AL in ERA.
