Tigers Sign Jacob Turner

Lost in the hubbub of the Huff trade and Strasburg signing, the Tigers *DID* sign their #1 pick, Jacob Turner, tonight. He was a Scott Boras client.

We gave him a six-year, $5.5 million contract. As a high schooler, I'd say the earliest realistic ETA is 2011, more likely 2012.

What about the other draft picks? Austin Wood? Andrew Oliver? Daniel Fields?

I know we signed the second rounder as well, i believe that is Oliver (?)

I'll be looking forward to this kid in a couple years

Yeah, Andrew Oliver was our second round pick and a LHP. He should spend a few years in the minors and than make the rotation.
