Huge, Huge, HUGE series
This is probably the season. Gotta come strong, gotta have Verlander and Porcello throw some nasty stuff, gotta have everyone hitting and hustling.....
damn
Gotta at least split. But i'll take 4

Yeah, easily the most important series of the sieries - it will have a playoff atmosphere.
If,
Tigers 4, Twins 0 = We clinch the division
Tigers 3, Twins 1 = We clinch the division
Tigers 2, Twins 2 = We're up 2 games with only 3 to go.
Twins 3, Tigers 1 = We're tied with 3 games left.
Twins 4, Tigers 0 = Twins are up 2 games with only 3 to go.
What a huge difference in outcomes. I'd be extremely confident if we split with them, though it would be awesome to clinch before our last series.

A split is all I ask for. Having Bonine and Robertson out there is scary. Need Verlander and Porcello to pitch well and we NEED our offense to show up every game.

Tonight and tommorow night are the two most important games of the season. Those two have gotta come out throwing....we will be in deep trouble if our season rests on the shoulders of Eddie Bonine and Nasty Nate

Indeed. If we win both of these next 2 games, then 3 and 4 will be less important. However if we lose at least 1 of these next 2, then game 3 will be ever so slightly bigger than game 1 or 2. Game 4 will only be bigger than 1 or 2 if we lose at least 2 of the first 3.

Game postponed (no shocker if you live in Michigan, the weather is nasty) for what i assume to be a double header tommorow.

I like the twist. It's a Day/Night Doubleheader, so the loser will have a few hours to stew over it.

#^#^%$&&^*(&)*(W$@#$@%
So frustrating. Lyon uncorks back to back wild pitches are you kidding me???? We couldnt hit in a RISP if their lives were on the line.
Its **** like this that shows we dont deserve the playoffs.

Just disgusting. Our offense is all hit or miss. No one can move a runner over to save their friggin' lives.
There is no reason why Verlander shouldn't have 20 wins. No reason why Jackson and Porcello shouldn't have 16-17 wins. They've pitched that well, but the offense and bullpen just don't bring it.

Huge win tonight, though i swear we tried to lose it. Worst case is we come out of this series tied in the standings...which isnt terrible.
I just pray we grab another

Yes there are reasons:
Leyland has cost us games
Laird has cost us games
Everett has cost us games
There are more responsible, but those 3 have cost us the MOST TOTAL games. (not counting pitchers)
Those 3 guys have hindered our great pitching in a nutshell. We should be a MUCH better team. But Leyland uses statistically unsound strategies ALL the time, almost every game if not every game. Heck, 2/3 of our games don't even have the best structure to our batting lineup. It's unbearable.

Even though we trotted out our best two pitchers that will pitch in this series, a split is a win at this stage of the game. Split the next two and I'll be happier still.

All we need a is a split. But like Leyland said, we need our big boys to step up. Just hope he doesn't think our big boys include Raburn.

that should be it. I don't wanna jinx it, but up 3 with 4 to play is making me feel very good.
I expect Robertson to get smashed, but going into the weekend up 2 would be fine as well.
That said, to get the division wrapped up tomorrow would mean we could rest our guys and get the rotation set. That would be awesome. Lets finish this thing tomorrow afternoon

Biiiiiiig win.
This .360 w/ no power Magglio is an interesting player. Got himself a fat $18 mil contract for next year which he has about a 1% chance of earning, but for now, I don't care.
We need Guillen and Mags to re-emerge as legit good hitters to have a shot against the Yanks -- either that or ridiculous pitching from JV, EJ, and the rook.

I said before the series and I'll say it now.... Twins had to sweep us to get to the playoffs, they weren't going to do it, they didn't do it. They are DONE!!

Well they would have been fine if they just won 3 out of 4, cause then we would be tied with 3 games left.
I was at the game and thrilled to see Santiago knock in the go-ahead runs. He's my favorite player on the team.
