I know people have taken Porcello out of discussions, but I think he deserves to be back in discussions.

14-9 record (1st among rookies)
4.04 ERA (2nd among rookies)
79 runs (1st among rookies)
74 ER (1st among rookies)
50 BB (2nd among rookies)

Every other pitcher is on a losing team, while Porcello is pitching during a pennant race and he's only 20 yrs old.

If you read ESPN it's basically a race between Elvis Andrus, Jeff Niemann, Brett Anderson and Andrew Bailey. Three pitchers and Elvis Andrus. None of the pitchers are pitching in a pennant race either.

Niemann has a 3.94 ERA, that is his claim to fame. If Porcello has another 1 ER over 6 IP outing, his ERA will drop to 3.92. Bailey is a relief pitcher with a good ERA. Anderson has nothing on Porcello besides strike outs. But Porcello is 5th in the AL in double plays.

IMO, it should be between Andrus and Porcello.

For some reason, Porcello ain't getting any love because everyone is focused on Verlander and Jackson.
