Was I the only one who watched the Tigers game today on FSN?
It was the first televised game of the Spring.
Scott Sizemore homered to start the game. Cabrera had a good game.
Casper Wells, Gustavo Nunez, Jacob Turner, Wilken Ramirez, and Alex Avila all looked really good out there.
Armando struggled a little but had a decent outing. Brad Thomas alsmot lost us the game.
I can't wait to see Austin Jackson. He didn't play but reports are that he's looked really good so far.

Missed it
Did Guillen play?

He did but didn't do anything but strikeout. Same ole Guillen. We had Johnny Damon and Wilken Ramirez in left.... Wilken had a good defensive play. Guillen just DHed and didn't do anything. He didn't even seem to be getting good looks at the pitches because he was all over the place. He looked done to be honest.... I'm hoping he has a better outting this spring.
Thursday is the next televised game. The game is at 1 pm EST, FSN will also replay it at 7 pm.

in a semi surprising move, Galarraga became the first loser of the battle for 5th and was optioned to AAA. Jacob turner got sent to West Michigan...no surprise. Looks like its Nasty Nate or the D-train for the 5th spot...my moneys on Willis, who just had another really nice outing. And we need a lefty because of the other 4 RHP.

Galarraga hasn't looked good since the start of last season. I know he was injured last year, but I don't know if it's lingering injuries or confidence with him. Glad the Tigers are ending him down to work on some things.
Turner looked good when he played. It'll be interesting to ee how quickly he moves up in the minors.
I don't Bonderman or Nate have really earned a spot. Dontrelle looks better than both of them right now.

I think Bondo is in either way. DD said at Tiger Fest that he was the 4th starter IIRC and they arent going to pay him all that money to sit more.
Dontrelle is my bet for the 5th spot, with Nate in the pen as a long reliever

http://www.mlive.com/tigers/index.ssf/2 ... tiger.htmlLeyland plans to post his 25 after intense discussions with Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski by Wednesday. When the club boards the plane for two exhibition games with the Milwaukee Brewers, he plans to be set barring a last-minute trade or injury.
Nate Robertson should get one of those. He’s pitched well, going 2-0 with a 3.68 ERA, and is the only one of the candidates to reach the fifth inning of a game. Robertson has the bite back on his slider, an improved changeup and is learning to pitch with an 89 mph fastball. His confidence is back, and it’s not false.
Dontrelle Willis would be my pick for the fifth spot. He still hasn’t pitched more than three innings, but has a 0.82 ERA and reasonable control. The horrid command that led to two seasons that produced one win and plenty of head scratching has been overcome. Give him a chance to prove that what he’s showing this spring is for real.
lots of stuff on the spring training battles. Looks like Willis and Robertson have the legs up on the spots, with Bondo maybe the long reliever. Avila still prolly in AAA to start, with Diaz the backup. Kelly vs. Clete for the last outfield spot. Dlugach looking good

According to Dombrowski last night on the Tigers telecast, Bondo is a lock for the #4 slot and he likes what Dontrelle has done this spring. Sounds like Nate is the odd man out.

Avila makes the roster as backup C, which is somewhat surprising. Larish and Dlugach sent down. The Thomas/Kelly battle will be settled later today, ill post when i see it. My moneys on Kelly

Avila is just too good to not have with the team. Not only is he an improving catcher, but he's a solid lefty bat as well. He will come in handy.
I like Don Kelly, but Clete is my boy. Everytime he's been with the team he's given his all. He struggled a little last year down the stretch, but I like his glove in the outfield and his speed on the bases. I hope he gets to stick around.

Kelly makes the team, Clete sent down. The difference i assume is that Clete can play a ton of positions while Clete is a strict outfield guy
