Polanco 'probably' would have accepted arbitration?

"You know, if they would've offered me arbitration, I probably would've accepted it," Polanco said. "Probably. I didn't know what was out there. Most teams were waiting on that. Most teams wait on that, because the type of free agent I was, they have to give up a Draft pick. So that kind of worked out well for me."

Tigers didn't want him back. If teams have to give up picks, he's less likely (not unlikly) to sign elsewhere. I'm not happy that we lost him for nothing... but the Tigers didn't want him back. They are trying to turn over the team to the younger guys. Letting Poly go and then waiting for Maggs/Guillen/etc to get off the books is a major step in building the team. They need to cut back on that higher salary.

^ yup. Sizemore isnt exactly 18 years old and it was time to bring him up. We needed to get younger and cheaper. I liked Polanco a lot, but it was time for both sides to part
