Marlins Might Look To Deal Willis And Olsen

26th August, 2007 - 9:46 am

Philadelphia Inquirer - Dontrelle Willis has had a difficult season in Florida, and there's a growing feeling that this could be the winter he is traded. The 25-year-old lefty won't be a free agent until after 2009. The Marlins would look for young pitching and catching in return. Florida may also trade lefty Scott Olsen, 23, this winter. He faces a drunken-driving charge and is due in court Sept. 10. [READ]

if they can get 3 major league ready players, with 1 or 2 projected studs for D-Train, they have to consider it.

truer words were never spoken

what's also troublesome is the spate of injuries that don't improve and end up being surgeries by Dr. Andrews. They need to either send these guys to Dr. Andrews right away, or fire their medical staff down here who misdiagnose things. How many Tommy Johns have we had the last few years - Carlos Martinez, Logan Kensing, Josh Johnson come to mind, anyone else?. Anibal Sanchez had surgery. Henry Owens now going to Dr. Andrews. Ricky Nolasco had a setback. Aaron Boone waited all this time, saw his old doc in Cincy and had THAT guy do a knee surgery this week.

I would like to see D-Train go for some decent hitters, as well as a solid catcher...it's not a surpise that hes going to be on the trading block since the Marlins dont like to pay their stars big contracts :noway:
