Opening Week 2008 (Mets @ Marlins)

Post#1 » by Flash3 » Mon Mar 31, 2008 12:24 am

Mets @ Marlins

4:10PM/Monday March 31st
7:10PM/Tuesday April 1st
7:10PM/Wednesday April 2nd

As it stands right now, we have just as good a chance at reaching the post-season as the Yankees and Red Sox. But, I'm not sure how that's going to look a few weeks in. -- Stay tuned.

Let's Go Fish!

the pitching makes me extremely nervous

but I think in 2 years it will be awesome, we have some great arms in the pipeline.

I would LOVE to see them lock up Hanley, even though I know it isn't going to happen. Loria is pocketing the revenue $ and will sell the team as soon as the new stadium is built, so he's not going to outlay any $ for anyone.

Conine threw out the first pitch

if we get to Johan I think it'll have to be earlier in the game

David Hyde on the Sun Sentinel had a great article about Loria and his money saving strategy for the next few seasons. It makes me want to puke knowing that the payrool is only at $21mil and we could've kept Cabrera or D-Train and STILL have Baseball's lowest payroll!!!

We need to lock up Hanley now, like the Mets did with Reyes and Wright a few seasons ago, when their prices are low, not when Ramirez is bound to get $15M/season.
