Craig Biggio: Hall of Fame?

Craig Biggio is eligible for the Hall of Fame this season, but there are some questions if he will get a ticket to Cooperstown.

In his long career that saw him play Catcher, Second Base and Outfield he tallies 3,060 hits, 1,175 RBIs, 1,844 Runs and 291 Home Runs.

He is #5 all-time in Doubles with 668 and 15th all-time in runs scored (1,844).

He is the leader of the modern era in the unofficial "hit by the pitch" stat (285).

7 All-Star Appearances.

5 Silver Sluggers.

4 Gold Gloves.

Only player in baseball history to have at least 3,000 hits, 600 doubles, 400 stolen bases & 250 home runs.


Does Biggio belong in the Hall of Fame? I'm putting several options in the poll, choose whichever you feel is best.

Also, he hit more doubles than any other right-handed hitter in history.

He hung on a bit too long trying to get to 3,000 hits, but my extreme bias says he is easily deserving of the HOF(as is Bagwell).

I always thought he was one of the most fun players to watch over the years. He never took anything for granted or took a play off. Astros fans were extremely lucky to have him and Bagwell for all of those years. When they were both in their prime, they were incredible. Unfortunately, the years where they had really good teams, they always went up against superior pitching in the postseason(DAMN YOU ATLANTA, AND DAMN YOU TOO KEVIN BROWN! Rabble rabble...).

Anyways, I don't know if he will get in on the first ballot, but he absolutely deserves to be there.

He's easily a top 10 2nd baseman of all time.

Actually, there are 300 players in the HOF...
(9 positions, 30 teams, 100 years - total of well over 27,000 starters, and ONLY 300 PLAYERS???? - this is maybe 1% of the starters to have ever played)

So, in theory, the top 30 for each position should be there.
Biggio easily fits that bill. This isn't even a question.
