Astros-Rangers series thread 3/31 - 4/3 at Houston

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sun Mar 31, 2013 11:45 pm

MLB kicks off tonight and it is a matchup of Texas Teams to get things started. We have the powerhouse Rangers opening the season at Houston where they young Astros squad will play their first game in the gimmicky American League.

Bud Norris gets the start for Houston against Matt Harrison for the 3/31 game which takes place at 7:05 CDT and will be featured on ESPN.

Lucas Harrell will pitch for the Astros in the 4/2 game against Yu Darvish. That game will be on CSN Houston at 7:10 CDT, so barring a major change in the next couple of days 60% of Houston will not be able to watch.

Phillip Humber will get the start for the Astros against Alexi Ogando for the 4/3 game which will also take place at 7:05 CDT on CSN Houston

This may be a rough season, but the Astros are my team through thick & thin.

GO ASTROS!!!

CBS preview of tonight's opening game. I love that it starts off with Houston coming off of back-to-back 100 loss seasons.

Here's to hoping that our draft picks for those years turn out to be good!

Still sad to see Berkman in another uniform. I wish that we could have brought him back to play the gimmick DH role, but he was way out of the Astros price range for this season.

Fat Elvis, on the Rangers, and no more Twinkies...

I didn't mean to live long enough to see that day!

So be it.

Astros win 8-2

Bud Norris with the Win, Eric Bedard with the Save

Justin Maxwell has to be the Player of the Game with his two triples and impressive defensive play!

Ankiel with the hit of the night!

Marwin Gonzalez, the #9 hitter, is the MVP of the game. What a GOAT hitter.

Marwin Gonzalez!!!

Yeah, it's a loss, but it's kind of a win.

....not really, but thank you for one hit out of 28 attempts, Marwin! :D

Am I the only one excited to see the Astros chance of making history this year? Sure it is the wrong type of history but how often do you think a team has the chance of losing 120 games. I mean there are bad teams but none have ever looked as bad as these Astros looked on papar.

But in the end I think they when 55-60 games crushing my dreams of seeing a 120 loss team in my lifetime like that jerk Marwin did ruining my chance of seeing a perfect game live.

But I do think they will break the team strikeout record.

15 strikeouts for the Rangers today. Dominated again.

Well...I doubt anyone thought that we'd be 1 game under .500 at this point in the season! :)
