Well, poop...greater Cole giving up the late back-to-back solo HR's to tie it.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Nice to get that win, but it would be even nicer if our bats could really get it going.

Hinch must really not trust Giles in these tough situations if he's sending Devo out there to close it out in a 1-run game.

Morton with another great performance today!

Read on Twitter

SEATTLE -- Charlie Morton pitched seven shutout innings, allowing only three hits and no walks while striking out eight, as the Astros defeated the Mariners, 9-2, on Thursday afternoon at Safeco Field.

...

The Astros have three of the top four ERAs among AL starters, including Gerrit Cole at 0.96 and Justin Verlander at 1.35.

Morton has gone six innings or longer in all four of his starts this season, but that's nothing new for this staff. The starting pitchers for Houston have gone six innings or more in the last seven games.

Good to see the bats coming alive, hope they can sustain that and go on a nice win streak.

Excited to see Ohtani in action tonight against the Astros, haven't had a chance to see any of his starts yet this year. Hope we get to him early and often!

"You don't ever want to be the guy starting on the last day of the series and your team is facing a sweep, but my job's to end it," Verlander said. "We are tough to sweep because of our pitching matchups, our 1-5, and our rotation. The old adage, 'You're only as good as the next day's starting pitcher,' and I think we like our chances every day."

Verlander (4-0) retired 20 of the first 21 batters he faced before Albert Pujols hit a line-drive homer into the left-field seats with two outs in the seventh to spoil the shutout bid. It was Pujols' 64th career homer against the Astros -- the most by an opponent against Houston, including the postseason.

Damn you, Pujols! You've done your damage against us over the years, it's time to give it a rest.

Verlander improved to 9-0 with a 1.33 ERA in 11 regular-season starts with the Astros and has won 11 consecutive regular-season decisions, which is the longest active streak in the Major Leagues.

8-)

Bagwell needs to join the home broadcasts full time.

Or join the team on the road as a coach, mentor, and alcoholic beverage provider.

All of the above!

Bagwell talking about hitting in the Dome, and how he had to adjust moving to the new park, how he focused more on hitting to right field...

...aaaand BOOM! Marwin hits a no-doubter to the second deck in right field.

Cole with another great outing today, what a pickup he was in the offseason.

Shame he doesn't get the W though.

Big series against the Yanks starting tonight! Hope Morton can get it started with a strong outing and a W.

Yanks have won 9 in a row, so they're playing good baseball right now, not gonna be easy. Hopefully the bats offered Jobu enough rum. If not, they better have that bucket of KFC on hand just in case.

Go Astros!

Okay, the way that Devo and Kenny G nailed that down deserves the twinkie road to victory.

Why...why take Devo out when he was dealing and hardly threw any pitches? Why would you trust Will Harris to secure the win?

All is forgiven tonight. Cole and the Bats made peace with Jobu.
