We should of given him away when we had the best chance during the off season, when the Red Sox were highly interested. Its either that or get his confidence higher, by just making him a RP, and make him do Wheelers job.

Damn you Albert Pujols! Damn you to hell! He broke Lidge and now he is useless. Ruined his life. Ruining another person's life should be worthy of a little jail time don't you think? He should be sharing a cell with Ugueth Urbina.

I refuse to join this thread until it's renamed to the "Brad Lidge makes me want to throw up in someone else's mouth" thread.

lidge will come around I guarantee it. even if he did blow the first game of the season, it's still the first game. if he blows the next 5, then yeah we got something to be worried about.

I would agree with you but there is definitely a pattern developing here. It happened all of last season and all of this preseason. I was saying stuff like that last year and I forced myself to say "well it is only the preseason" but the truth of the matter is, he lost his mojo and I am rapidly losing faith that he will ever get it back.

Either we trade him for some offense, or we trade him for another RP, or we just keep him as our RP, and move Wheeler to CP.

Well, IMO, for NOW, I don't think their is any choice but to let Wheeler close and move Lidge down in the order. Maybe give him 1 more shot since it's still early but, this is getting pathetic.

I still think he could be effective as a RP when he doesn't have to close the game out, but how many more chances do we give him?

Sad thing is, I used to believe whenever Lidge gets on the mound, with a lead, it's over 99.9% of the time.

Now, I just know he's going to blow it 99.9% of the time and it frustrates me.

Well, iono if thats ever going to happen because Garner wasn't disapointed in his preformence, just read the chron.

"Lights Out Lidge" Remember that? Damn, look what has happened to this guy. I'm with you, I'm terrified everytime I see him jogging towards the mound.

Lidge only blew 6 saves last year I believe which isn't that high of a number and 30+ saves once again. He did have a high ERA but can still strike out a ton of hitters. Lidge is still one of the best closers out there...

Statistically you're correct, but do you honestly have any confidence in him anymore?

Actually we have to see couple of more games from him, we need to make sure he has lost all of his confidence, because I think he can prove himself, but he needs to put together some solid innings or work.

w.e trade him or, move him, thats what I say to Garner, because when I read the chron, Garner wasn't dissapointed for Lidge's effort, they have a Rafer Alston/ JVG relationship, no matter how much he sucks at times shooting, JVG praises him to do it more, and no matter how many saves he blows, Garner says, he had great effort, tired of this man!
