We are 0-2 and have struggled to score runs and out bullpen is shaky and this is against the PIRATES! what will happen when we actually play a good team?

We had a lead late in both games, our 1-2 SP's looked very good, Lee will come around(you know this), it's really really early. I'm not too concerned yet.

btw I guarantee a win tonight and a series win against St. Louis.

No, give them some time, they still need to get used to the season atmosphere. Lee, and Berkman should start stroking it soon, and Ensberg should be too. Our offense doesn't seem to bad, its our pitching rotation of the 3-4-5 spots, and the bullpen you have to be a little worried about.

I Say we will make a trade in June for a reliever, someone like Flash Gordon who we traded for like 4 years ago

We lack that shut out bullpen we had in the early 2000s
Dotel, Wagner, A good Lidge

Don't think Gordon is the answer. The guy is 40 and had a horrid second half last season after having a decent first half.

I didnt say him, i used him as an example, a veteran reliever is what we could use, rock white and trever miller aint cutting it

Yeah, I dont care about Lidge, if we trade him, then I would go after someone big. Not anyone who is in the minors and is going to devlelop into a big prospect, I want someone who can play for us right now, either that it be for offense, or defense.

wow, it's time for lidge to go, if we do somehow gte into the playoffs we need a more reliable closer. BTW this offense isn't any better either.

But Berkman/Lee/Ensberg are proven hitters(when healthy which they are!), they will come around, you know this.

Burke sucks but that trio will be solid, and Lane/Scott have looked good so far too.

I'm only concerned about our 4-5 spots in the rotation, and even though I think OVERALL our bullpen will be pretty good, I don't have much confidence in Lidge and Qualls can be annoying sometimes too(though he usually does get the job done).

If the ship keeps sinking I'm sure we'll see some guys called up from AAA(PENCE IN CF PLEASE GOODBYE BURKE) and perhaps a trade or 2.

It's the first week of the season ;)

Find another SS who plays close to the same defense consistantly, with as good of range, who can hit significantly better.

That is also available.

Pretty hard to come by...

I would also rather have Loretta playing at SS than Everett, because Loretta can hit better, and play pretty good defense when he has to. And lets look for Garner to possibly do that as the season goes on if Everett continues to struggle the way he did last yr at the plate.

Chris Burke in centerfield worries me. I never liked that idea from the beginning and he is only adding fuel to the fire. Dude looks like a complete bafoon out there.

Short term solution though, if at all.

I would like to see him get a few starts though, give Biggio a day off and let him play 2B, or the occasional start at 3B.

I agree, maybe it won't be long before we see Pence called up.

Now I'm scared, when the highest number of runs you can score in 4 games if only 4 and the rest 2 or less, now its time to be scared, why does these types of things always happen to us, we always suck in the begining, or the middle, and the we make a wonder run in the end to finish off in the playoffs, why can't we ever be consistant.

so far our offense is playing like crap and pitching was only bad from woody so its nothing new.
