What are your thoughts on Jason, you guys think that the trade was a good one? his first game was as solid as Oswalt.

I love the addition of him, I'm not sure he was worth both Hirsch and Willy though.

Although, from what I saw of Hirsch last season, he was probably a bit overrated as a prospect..

Jennings pitched very well in Colorado. I think he's a sinker type of pitcher who will keep the ball down....that really helps in hitter's parks.

I wish we got one more guy in the off season, I want Garland now, LOL, I hope the White Sox decide to put him up on the trading block again.

Garland sucks. He is worse than Woody Williams lol.

Woody pitched ok tonight IMO, Everett and Burke didn't help with the errors...

Ehh...not really lol

He only lasted 4 IP and gave up a bunch of hits with no K's. The defense didn't help him either.

That's not bad for him ;)

And 3 of those hits were outs(errors).

I admittedly ahven't seen Jennings pitch much, but his ERA was in the 3's pitching for the Rockies. I don't know the name of their park, but it's the definition of a hitter's park. So based on that I can't see how he's not just awesome.

With Willy gone there's nobody to lead of though.

he should have a good year if our offense actually produces some runs for some one not named rodriguez

He really impressed me in his first start, I just hope he can keep it up because we are obviously going to need him to bring his A game if we don't want to be in last place all season.

Wandy also Impressed me in his first start, I hope he can at least keep a below 4 ERA, because if thats so, it can help us out a lot. And we can have a strong 1-2-3 starting pitching lineup, and whats up with Sampson I thought he was suppose to pitch today and not Oswalt?

Wandy below 4? LOL! I wouldn't bet on that if I were you.

Yeah, your right, but you never know, he might be able to pull it off, if you rmr last yr, when we didn't have Clemens playing, Wandy was playing great, and until he got injured Garner was actaully even considering him as a possible All-Star selection to fill up the injured Pedro Martinez spot, but of course that went to Oswalt, as Wandy got injured and started screwing up, which send him to the minors.

Wandy is decent sometimes, terrible others. If he can somewhat consistantly decent I'm happy.

And Sampson didn't start because of the off day I think, so Oswalt started on his normal rest. I'm looking forward to seeing him pitch though.

Gonna be fun watching Jennings own the Birds tomorrow!

woody needs to pitch a lot better if we have a chance because we can't expect to win with our 4th and 5th pitchers

Same can be said of every team though, we just have to hope we get run support on those nights when our pitching struggles, and pitch well on the nights we don't score much.

It's the Astros though, so I doubt that will happen ;)

Woody will have to learn how to play more innings, and I just don't think he is mentally, and physically strong as Clemens at the age of 40 to do so.

Jason Hirsh has played great so far this season.
