ok all of his contacts have mostly been fly balls. Im sure he will get 40-50 home runs if healthy but I also think he will strike out like 200 times this season, thoughts?

Its the begining of the season, only 3 games into the season, everyone doesn't just start out hitting great, here is a quote by Berkman in the chronicle.
First baseman Lance Berkman isn't ready to proclaim himself in a season-opening slump after going 1-for-9 with one RBI in the first three games.
"Nine at-bats is such a small sampling," he said. "I'm not even the least bit concerned. I don't even consider it a bad start. A bad start to me is 5-for-50 or something like that. But 1-for-9 is not anything that I'm at all concerned about."

Still very early in the season. Most sluggers take about a couple of weeks before they get hot. And once they're hot, they can't be stopped.

Just wait, it's not a matter of if, but when Berkman/Lee/Ensberg start hitting, then watch out.
It will happen, probably sooner than later. This weekend would be a nice time to start
Also I doubt Lee will strike out THAT much, that sounds like Preston Wilson numbers.
And the good thing is, Berkman is good at drawing walks, as is Ensberg, and the way Lane has looked from spring and into the season, and Scott, we should be pretty decent.
Now if only Wandy didn't suck horrible ass....(he's really my #1 concern on this team overall honestly. Let's see how he does tonight).

I think both will have 30 home runs+, and 100RBI's+, or hell if both are on fire, then I think they might even both pull off 40 each.

Most of the great hitters start out late....Berkman and Lee will be fine.

Lee hit his 1st HR tonight. Sometimes it only takes a HR to get a hitter going.

Finally! Dude had a long ball. It barely squeaked over the fence into the Crawford Boxes but who cares. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come from him. He is the highest paid player on the darn team!

Lee is definitely the highest paid player on the team. He isn't the best player but he is the highest. He took advantage of a rising market during the offseason in which guys were getting overpaid. They even interviewed Lance on the radio one morning asked him if he was angry that Lee was getting paid more than him.

Lance deserves the 100 mill. while Lee deserves the 85 mill, Soriono def doesnt deserve that large of a contract either. And Oswalt would be making maybe even as much as 15 million a season if he tested the market.

Oswalt is going to probably command Zito-type money.

And Oswalt is actually worth it

Yeah, Zito not worth that large deal, Zito has a problem with his ERA, and pitch control at times. But Oswalt is king of them all.

I don't care what Astros do. Oswalt is worth everything.
