Time to Trade Brad Lidge?

Time to trade Brad Lidge.....?!?!?!?
He's gotta go, this was a terrible effort by him, and I don't understand why Garner keeps praising his terrible effort. Another loss, another poor display by Brad Lidge, he was the one who hurt the most. And its just simple, trade him while his value is still known around the league as the once "Lights out Lidge". But he isn't the one that is due for the whole blame, our bullpen so far has been mediocre. And like I said earlier, things need to be done if the only game has been won was by playing only one pitcher throughout the whole game, without even going to your bullpen, something is def. wrong. Lets hope they do something, I don't care who they get. And I don't care even if its for offense, just do it.
You guys have any offers that could attract the Astros, and could attract other teams using Lidge?

Wow, just looked at the box score.
Holy...wow.
Terrible. Nothing more to say.

We won't get anything valuable for him at this point. We should have pulled the plug on this before the start of last season. Now it will just be a salary dump.

It's really sad seeing him suck so much though, I really really like Lidge.
He was so nasty for a couple years. He still has great stuff too, I just think his mechanics aren't as good and he doesn't have that killer instinct anymore, the closers mentality. You can almost tell by looking at him he just doesn't have it anymore.
I think he can still be a very solid RP, or maybe even a closer somewhere else, but only time will tell.
He's a good guy, sucks to see him struggle so much.
I'm still holding out some hope he turns it around, and if he does I hope it's in a 'Stros uniform.

Astros Not Ready to Trade Lidge
http://www.realgmbaseball.com/src_wiret ... ade_lidge/
Tim Purpura was adamant in spring training that he wouldn't consider trading Brad Lidge.
"I think so, yeah," Purpura answered when asked if his position was the same. "Obviously you're always doing an inventory of who you have and if you get into a situation where you have excess in a certain area you might look at that, but at this point I don't feel we're in that position. I'm not in any kind of a rush mode to move any player right now.
"What we're trying to do is evaluate our team. That's what you spend the first month or six weeks doing. You look at your team. Yeah, if you have an injury or something horrible happens then you might have to make moves. You evaluate what you have. If we evaluated on a short sample you make a lot of mistakes."
Multiple scouts say their teams would love to take Lidge away from the Astros, but Purpura isn't sold that Lidge is at a point where he needs the proverbial change of scenery yet.

I said before I still think he can be a solid contributor to the Astros, but I'd trade him in a second if we get a good deal in return.

Time to trade Brad Lidge for...
all you can eat buffalo wings from WingStop, a box of Raisin Bran Crunch, a slinky, and a swap of pocket lint.

I think we will find someone out there looking to deal, I hope the Red Sox are still interested. Well even though if they are, I still don't think the Astros are ready to give up, maybe they want to try him for a RP role first.

I wanted to trade Lidge after the Pujols blast then again after the Posednik homer, but I think the Astros have to wait even longer than they already have. The ability is obviously there. Send him to the minors for a couple weeks and let him get his mojo back against farmhands. Use him as the setup man for a while and tell him there's no pressure. I'm sure all this has been thought of by the Astros, but how can you trade someone. What if he goes to another team and becomes lights out again??? See if we can get rid of the light up Lidge stigma for a litle while longer I say.
He's done okay his last few appearances. I'm not a major league pitcher, but I miss seeing him throw that slider 3 times in a row for in the strike zone and still see whiffs.

I think that he is doing fine in this lesser role without as much pressure so he should stay where he is for now.

Has Lidge really become the best closer in baseball since we traded him? Ah damnit.

What luck...
Valverde is one of the worst closers in the league.
But don't worry, soon Pujols will hit a walkoff HR off Lidge. It's coming.
