pretty much single handedly won us the game along with ensberg's three run blast...just watching carlos lee and seeing his enthusiasm and joy he has playing the game is great for the astros. he seems like a perfect fit man

Not that much surprised. Lee is one of the best sluggers in the game. He's going to catch fire now. As for Berkman, we will have to wait.

Berkman will do his job as time progresses.

Berkman is a guy that just needs to see alot of pitches in the beginning of the season and I think the astros seeing so many lefties in the pirates series kinda messed with his left handed swing.
He will be fine. he and lee will both have 120 RBI seasons this year if healthy

Isn't Berkman a switch hitter?

Yeah he is a switch hitter but he didn't get very many left handed at bats the first few games. Alot of opposing managers bring in leftys to turn berkman around to bat right handed....sometimes i wonder how would fare if he just stayed lefty at all times.........

Also Berkman is great because even when he isn't hitting, which he isn't yet(but will), he still gets on base. 3 walks today really helped us.
Now, I think once he gets going, and with Mo in the 2nd spot, watch out.

O ya. We are going to have one of the biggest threats in baseball if Ensberg and Scott get going like Lee has. i just hope the pitching will stay healthy and hold strong.

That was amazing, just imagine both fat asses with 40 homeruns for the season, it would be like the Red Sox combo of Ortiz and Manny.

Yeah that would be sweet. Come to think of it, we probably need to come up with a name for these guys. The A's had the "Bash Brothers" with Mark McGuire and Jose Canseco so we should have cool name too. Something like the "Burger Brothers" or the "Fat Boys". Hey Lee plus Berkman equals LB as in pounds. We had the "Killer Bees" and now the the "EL Bees" or LBs. LOL!!! Just throwing some stuff out there off the top of my head. Feel free to add some, we need to come up with a name for these two mammoth over eaters.

I hope Lee has a big game today, just because he is wearing number 42 for us.

Lance's switch hitter status is merely academic. When he hits right handed he's a far different hitter.

He loses some power but he generally hits for average at a decent clip.
