This morning DiPoto spoke to the media:

Jeff Fletcher @JeffFletcherOCR

#angels GM Jerry Dipoto is "prepared to" move on without Greinke. "You have to make smart decisions."

Mike DiGiovanna @MikeDiGiovanna

So we're clear, #Angels GM Jerry Dipoto said, "We are prepared to move on from Zack Greinke." Please tell me how to disable spell chk on BB!

if its not us i guess i'd want him to go to the dodgers. don't want to see him in Texas.

Alden Gonzalez @Alden_Gonzalez

Dipoto couldn't speak much to agreements w/ Burnett or Blanton, but sounded like a man who won't be making any more significant FA signings.

6yrs 147mil, 25 mil per yr is highest in history for a pitcher.

Yeah, wish we could have found a way to keep Segura in that trade, but the Dodgers ponied up trying to make some noise. At least it wasn't the Rangers.

Here's what Greinke said about the #Angels and their offseason pursuits: "I really enjoyed it there. And when I talked to Jerry, I told him the No. 1 selling thing that they have is the fact that you can play with Mike Trout for the next six years or whatever. We loved it there. But there’s a point where every team has to have a stopping point. They obviously felt that they reached that. And they have to run a business. They can’t just pay for everyone. It could be the right thing to do, it could’ve been a mistake, but I don’t know the answer to that. They just have to do what they have to do. I’m not mad about it, I don’t think they were mad about how I went about things, either."

Class act.
