2008 Season Preview: Los Angeles Dodgers
Five biggest questions
1. Will Penny and Lowe stay healthy enough to start 64 games between them?
2. How will Torre juggle four outfielders that expect to play everyday?
3. Will Martin, Loney, Kemp, Ethier and LaRoche take another step forward as they get older?
4. Will Colletti consolidate their deep team by making a trade for a true impact player?
5. Can Torre

1. Lowe just has to. I mean, it's his contract year. With Penny, there's always the concern of his great 1st half but poor 2nd half performance. Penny did well last season so hopefully he continues pitching like he did last season without overpowering the batters.
2. Ethier, Jones, and Kemp. I'm hearing the A's are interested in Pierre so who knows?
3. Martin, Ethier = sure looks like it. Loney and Kemp are big ? I'm praying to god that they end up as our 3/4 guys. LaRoche = seems like the guy gets hurt as he's getting older.
5. Hopefully so
Prediction: we end up winning the wild card.

1. Yes. Lowe has proven to be the most dependable starter we have. They will definitely make the starts though I expect Lowe's numbers a little better than last year (had some bad luck with some of his losses) with Penny's numbers a little worse (W-L).
2. I look at it as juggling 2 outfielders for 1 spot. I think Andruw and Matt are set at CF and RF. Saying that, I expect Joe to start Pierre at LF as Joe has been favoring him during Spring Training. Eithier will spot start at LF and RF, having Kemp move over to CF when Jones get's a day off.
3. All young guys except LaRoche will take a step forward. Kemp and Loney will improve their power numbers quite a bit while Martin will have much of the same numbers, but will be much more fresh and the end of the season as I think he'll be getting more days off. LaRoche needs to get healthy before he can me mentioned in this group.
4. No. As this off-season has proved the cost of an impact player is much too high when your top prospects are already on your Major League club. No doubt the price for this type of player would start with Clayton Kershaw, and that is a trade less and less likely to happen.
5. No Doubt. Will have the same impact Phil Jackson had in 99-00 for the Lakers. Rings equals respect.
Prediction: 94-68
