Baez gives up a double after missing Grandal's high target, which now scores the run charged to Watson. Why does Roberts insists on giving Baez the 8th inning?

Jeebus. Baez almost hit the next batter (David Freese) and missed another of Grandal's high targets...then proceeds to walk the bases loaded with only 1 out in the inning (obtained by Watson before him).

He has to look on his list of options and NOT see a certain player there.

I love Dave Roberts, but I cannot at all defend him if he uses Baez in high-leverage situations in the postseason. We're trying to win a World Series and can't afford to put so much faith in someone so unreliable.

I understand Dave is trying to boost Baez's confidence during the regular season with the lead we currently have in MLB atop the rankings, but it's getting late in the season and Baez is not showing any progress. Let him work on his stuff and mentality in the off-season.

Thank goodness Brandon Morrow came in to bail him out in getting the single batter out with the bases loaded.

Our Dodgers seem unstoppable, but with Kershaw, Darvish, and Wood all now dealing with ailments, it seems our vulnerability is our starting pitching's health when Rich Hill is our most prominent healthy starter at the moment and he's been susceptible to blisters. Good grief.

good to have depth. even with Kershaw-Darvish-Wood-McCarthy-Urias-Kazmir out, we still sport Hill-Ryu-Maeda-Stewart-Stripling with Oaks/White/Santana available if they are needed in desperation.
