Man, our pitching has engaged in major suckage recently. Maeda is practically throwing batting practice to the D-backs and our bats have increasingly been silent during opportune moments.

I'm seeing on social media how the Diamondbacks are not afraid of the Dodgers given how often they play us, but the converse is also true. The Dodgers, likewise, see the D-backs a lot and, as the best team in baseball, should be able to figure them out. Yes, I know we've been resting guys with people injured, but our team is supposedly stacked with players trying to show they belong on the postseason roster. I'm not inclined to accept such excuses for our current losing streak.

I'm surprised that Verdugo got the call but if he can capitalize on the opportunity presented before him with players slumping, he'll be a welcomed spark plug to the big club.

Whatever it is with the Diamondbacks, we need to figure it out quick because they are NLDS potential for us and in a short series, they could be a real problem.

5 games of getting Goldy, Pollock, Martinez out consistently enough to win will not be an easy task.
Greinke would only throw Game 3 and out of the bullpen in another game but this could be a tough series.

As I said before, Walker Buehler may be the fan-favorite but Wilmer Font has performed much better as a reliever. I still want to see Buehler get a look, but I'm glad the front office made the right call in giving Font the opportunity first. Well deserved.

Why would dumbass A-Gon sew that kind of seed with Alex Verdugo btw?

Looks like Puig is working to be a quality teammate, to hustle, and to give professional at bats. The last thing he needs is some old bitter guy trying to limit his growth or minimize how far he's come.

Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig are fairly close. I'm pretty sure A-Gon said it in jest even if there is some truth in his statement. Yasiel has certainly made significant progress but he still makes the occasional unwise play just like when he recorded the 1st out in an inning by trying to stretch a double into a triple. He also didn't cede to Curtis Granderson on an out in the outfield despite Curtis having the priority as center fielder.

Yeah, at this point, I'm just about to give up on him like I did with Chris Hatcher. I'm still barely open to giving him chances in low-leverage situations, but I have more faith in Brandon Morrow, obviously, and even Wilmer Font at this point.
