Neddy....you have any explanation for why Puig swings through fastballls over the middle of the plate?

Great, a Dodger I don't want on my team to begin with is coming in for the 10th.

Grandal Out of the Game, Ellis In

Post#1183 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 5:21 am

The TV broadcast just stated that the trainers are looking at Grandal. I hope he's put on the shelf to recuperate from whatever it is that is ailing him. I've wanted Austin Barnes starting in place of him, anyway, so maybe this could be an opportunity to call him up.

I want a righty at the top of the lineup....

too easy for opposing managers to manage against late in the game.
lefty in for Chase and Seager.

Tsao Sucks

Post#1185 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 5:53 am

I don't care if it's true that he was squeezed on the 1st pitch, how the eff do you walk in the game-winning run on 4 pitches after loading up the bases? Send this clown down. I can't believe he was called up in the 1st place.

yeah I was telling my wife the same thing in the late inning which now i can't remember which, but when he watched the first pitch go by slightly low but in the dead center part of the plate, that a notorious first pitch hitter like him watching that go by, he must not be looking for a fastball. the second pitch he swung and missed on another fastball, then came a foul, then a swinging strike out on another fastball. Puig was not looking for a fastball and swung defensively and late. the issue here is that either he was over thinkng or got caught in the decision making dilemma.

anyhow, the result was a strike out. he needs to cut down on which zonne he is looking for and react rather than which pitch to sit on imo.

Tsao didn't deserve the call up, Magic Mike should have stayed as our long relief and an occasional starter if we are committed to 13 pitchers. I agree wholeheartedly that out of all the options from the AAA, we surely could have chosen a better option.

Unbelievable.

Throw him some cheese over the center of the dish. I mean, that's not ideal but at least he still has to swing, make contact and we have the chance of the ball finding our glove.

This turd gets a gift in Thompson catching that ball, which would have went out in nearly any other park and repaid the favor by walking the next 3 batterss.

You're a 35-36 year old man dude. IDC if you haven't spent much time in the majors. If that spot right there shakes you up, to where you can't throw a strike when everyone knows you need one, pack your bags and go back overseas....because there isn't much space for you here in the majors.

and guys.....we need a bat.
Seager is our only thumper. If he isn't driving people in, we're doomed.
The other bats aren't consistent enough. It's not going to happen for us just waiting around.
Do you remember the NLDS? Do you remember the no hitters? It's time to make that plunge. The answer isn't to wait on A-Gon. Turner may heat up....but we need a thumper...a Braun...maybe a Beltre...someone.

a nice right handed .300/.350/.500 bat.
please....pretty soon Corey is gonna stop getting pitches to hit.

Some part of me always hurt worse when I was playing like dog ****.

When's the last steal attempt where he's even made a throw to 2nd Base?

Alanna Rizzo followed up her initial tweet about Grandal's ankle with the results, which I updated in my post, so I want to make sure you're aware that the results were negative, which means it's not a serious injury.

well, Tsao has no where to go since he is banned from his homeland for getting involved with an organized crime for an attempt to throw a game over hookers and free booze. he failed at the actual "game fixing" as well. he wanted to go to Austrialia but Taiwanese baseball put pressure on ABL to keep Tsao off their league otherwise to lose all future pipe line talents. so he is stuck here in the MLB as his only chance.

as for Braun, or Beltre, please no. they are equavalent of trading for Melo. we have plenty of talents in the minors who can exceed those guys you mentioned within a very short time and the last thing we need is to add expensive over the prime mid to late 30 something players with years to go on their deals. besides, what those teams would ask in return alone with is not worth to contemplate this at all.

just relax. baseball isn't like football or basketball. this is only May and we are still just 4.5 games out. this is nothing in baseball. Ryu and McCarthy, although both had some disappointments in their recovery, will be back before the post season in full capacity. Montas will become that 8th inning guy to set our bullpen in order, and SVS will become a valuable asset off the bench as our 4th OF and a veteran "thumper" primary right handed PH we currenly dont have.

just gotta hope that Dave learns a few things along the way to make better decisions....

Oh...was not aware that was Tsao....yikes.

I am relaxed and I think this team will jell under the new coaches and climb out of their rut. But another impact bat is something that I've been interested in for a long time (going back to last year). You don't see me asking for wholesale changes to the pitching staff. I've stuck with Wood and our Jekyll/Hyde Pen even thoguh every media outlet is laying into them. I simply want another impact bat...right handed preferably.

We'll see about Dave.
That Utley move and the reasoning was one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Wood Comparing Favorably to Strasburg Over a Month

Post#1196 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 9:27 pm

After their recent outings, Kershaw increased his K-rate over the past 30 days to just under 41% while Wood vaulted over Strasburg for 4th place on the list.

Kendrick with the solo shot in the 8th inning to give us the 5-4 lead. Turner also provided a pinch-hit homer to help overcome the 4-run deficit.

My goodness, Dave has his righty specialist for Upton on te mound.

He says no and goes with Kenley for some get back in a similar situation.

this better not backfire.

Rematch Yields Another Letdown

Post#1199 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 11:46 pm

I'm sure Jansen was pushing to redeem himself against Upton but his last 2 pitches were questionable with the former the same as the one he gave up the homer on last night and the latter a game-tying triple. Kenley wanted to get the psychological edge back but Upton got him again, but this time, we lose the lead instead of the game for now.
