I hate the result but I don't mind the move to give Kenley a chance at getting his edge back.

Puig with a Brain Fart

Post#1202 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 11:51 pm

What the heck is Puig thinking?! Ellis lays down a perfect bunt that pulls the third baseman off the bag and Yasiel freezes like a deer caught in headlights on top of almost being picked off at 2B.

Crawford's AB would have scored him.

Puig killed this team with that blunder.

I want him traded tomorrow.

Always Breaking Bad Somewhere

Post#1207 » by Ranma » Mon May 23, 2016 12:15 am

I'm really not in the mood to defend Puig, but he's trying to play the game the right way. However, he's doing more thinking than reacting on instincts. I'm waiting for the smart play to be a part of his instincts, so he can react without second-guessing himself. Our offense has done enough to win all 3 games in this series. It's been our relief corps letting us down. If it's not the starting pitching, it's the batting. If it's not the batting, it's the relief pitching. There seems to always be an element of our team that is letting us down. We need to put it all together.

Yeah, I know. Sometimes, though not all, I have to respond just to keep myself from going off the deep end during games too.

hey hey hey, it was disappointing to lose the series against the lowly Madres 1-2, but we beat whom we were supposed to beat againt the red stockings 8-2 tonight and we went through Magic Mike, Joe Blanton and Liberatore. we looked good today with a bunch of back up pitching I must say.
ehhhhh f it.

Trades by the Front Office

Post#1215 » by Ranma » Wed May 25, 2016 10:24 pm

I've been thinking about posting this for the past couple of days but the tweet below serves as nice a prompt as any. I just want to acknowledge how the 2 trades I've been critical and suspicious of made by the front office have turned out well so far. I disliked dealing Jose Peraza and not getting Todd Frazier back in return, but it turns out that we made out quite well in that exchange, especially with reports of Montas throwing high heat after his rib resection procedure, which was of particular concern for me. I've already conceded on the Dee Gordon trade even if I still feel that we made a mistake dealing away Heaney for just Hendrick, but again, it has proven to be a win overall in hindsight. Props to Friedman, Zaidi & Co.

hoping like hell Trayce can keep it up and force Roberts to not play Crawford.

I don't think Trayce got a hit tonight.
Color me shocked if Carl is in left on Friday night.
