I would have let him finish that inning. he loaded up the bases, at least give him a chance to get out of it with just one more out. the relief gives up a hit here and Julio's major league debut will go down in history as a 2 and 2/3 innings with more than 10.00 ERA.

Kid had zero control tonight.

I thought he K'd Campbell on that 2-2 pitch but whatever.

Can tell you right now, I hate Doc's move to go to Hatcher with the bases juiced to a LH hitter.

dont care if hes a pitcher. DeGrom is good with the bat.

Early Hook for Urias

I'm not familiar with the numbering convention for position players and pitchers for baseball, but if that were the case, he'd have to wait until A.J. Ellis retires since the number currently belongs to him. Roberts pulls Urias in the 3rd inning with 2 outs and the bases loaded. Hatcher gets the call from the pen.

thank goodness we got out of that.

Good for Hatcher. Hopefully he has a clean bottom of the 4th as well.

Big League Adjustment Still in Store for Julio Urias

Julio's control certainly suffered from the jitters tonight, but the umpire had been fairly consistent with the strike calls. In fact, Urias' 1st strikeout was due to the umpire giving him the call for a pitch that was practically the same height as the one earlier, which was called a ball. Both were borderline pitches but the pitch tracker had them at the same height scraping the top of the strike zone.

pitchers typically gets the number 1 as the first number often.

in highschool, espeically in Japan, #1 is reserved for your staff ace who often are also your best hitter. in America, single digit numbers are often reserved for infielder and 1 or 1 something is reserved for a pitcher as well. when a pitcher who's favorite number growing up was say, #16, but a veteran/older classman already has that number, the younger often flips their number, to be #61. but 1 is the most dominant number associated with pitchers.

I was a big fan of him becoming our next manager after Donnie ballsacs but I am quickly turning sour on Vinnie Del Roberts.

I hope this is just a case of a rookie manager getting his kinks worked out.

Great.
Wright went yard on him and now Cespedes is coming up.

Hatcher is so lucky he's out of options and this team won't DFA him.
Time to hit the DL famo. D-backs are doing it with Shelby.

we are only a quarter past the season. no way the Cubs keep their current pace and no way we continue to suck at hitting at our current pace either.

I'm not a believer in this year's version of the Mets. That offense WILL hit a coldspell that makes them feel like 2014 and the beginning of 2015 all over again. Definitely have the Nats taking that diviion.

No, actually I don't but I've been hearing that Bellinger has been tearing it up of late after a slow start.
