that's one thing about Japanese pitchers in general. their stuff can be super wicked, but their control is inconsistent.
Nomo was infamous for missing targets by 2-3 feet and yet he was effectively wild.
Matsuzaka sported a ton of different pitches with no real control in any of them.
Hideki Irabu and Kei Igawa are who they were.
Tanaka is wild but very effective with his spliiter/fork ball that even he can't tell if it will be strike or in the dirt.
Yu Darvish, we know all about his control issues.
