it's easy to see McCarthy will replace Stewart, but they may keep Urias as a reliver when Ryu is back... so who goes?

Does Fien have options? Seems like he would be most likely despite his performance. Hatcher probably deserves to be sent down if he has options even if he's been better of late.

i personally want Urias shut down. but if he is gonna stick around with Yimi Garcia near his return, I actually want to package Howell or Hatcher in a trade. I might be wrong but Baez and Liberatore are the only ones with options left... Fien might, but I haven't checked.

Why do you want Urias shut down?
He's at 74 IP if you combine AAA and ML starts. He's never going to build arm strength for a season if he cant push to 100 or more.

And Hatcher is out of options.
Not sure he's going anywhere. These guys trust the Baezes of the world for no reason. I want to trade for Miller from NYY and tell Howell to kick rocks.

good call! for whatever the reason I was under the impression that he had already gone close to 100. if that is the case, I can see us keeping Urias on the bullpen as a secondary setup man. and I would not mind Miller, but it really depends on the asking price.

I dunno if anyone is paying attention, but the dirtbags just took the lead in the bottom of the 8th against the Gnats.

Solo Homerun for Arenado

I'm just glad Hatcher is pitching in low pressure situations.

Edit: He proceeds to walk the next batter with no outs still.

Wellington Castillo had our back.

Chris Hatcher does not.

I keep playing out scenarios in my head of dealing for Andrew Miller and which arm we'd move out of the pen. Then I looked up and saw BJ Upton walked him off tonight at Petco....makes me feel less salty about that happening to Kenley.

We had went up 6-0 by that time so I was watching live.

That team has a shaky pen. Much shakier than they've had in years past.

well this might be a blessing in disguise. it forces Kershaw to take time off perfectly at the mid-point of the season, and hopefully he is not exhausted when the playoffs come around. we are already leading the WC, and only 5 games behind the Gnats. McCarthy is back, Ryu is near, Bud Norris is a surprise and if he can give us another month of sub 3.50 ERA until Kershaw is back, with Kazmir and Maeda being who they were supposed to be when we signed them, we are in a great shape. in fact, we are gonna have too many starters soon as Alex Wood ( my hunch is he is gonna need a surgery and be out for this season and the next) and/or Anderson comes back (which is questionable) we may have to make some difficult decisions as of who makes the playoff roster and who doesn't.

Puig has really improved his game. his first swing and miss was still a good call, just didn't hit it but was a good fastball mid high and inner part of the plate. still he dug himself out to take a walk from 0-1 count. I like what I am seeing from him since coming off the DL.
