looking at his pitch count, Potato is gonna run him out there for the 7th... we better have bullpen warmed up and ready to step in on the first sign of trouble, and I don't mean runner on first with no out, but Clayton missing his fastballs or cutters not breaking on the first pitch to first batter.
ehhhhh f it.

Ned….given Kershaw's history in the 7th….i'd have bullpen arms ready though….I'd give him a quick hook if he's walking batters.

Kershaw Coming Up Clutch

Post#206 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 14, 2015 1:59 am

Kershaw is dealing, but like you guys pointed out, the 7th inning is getting me worried. Part of me wants to see him overcome this mental hurdle, but the other part says not to push him so hard after short rest given what he means to the franchise.

Ellis and Murphy jawing at each other a bit, but Kershaw gets him to pop out.

Kershaw can shake his demons off by walking off right now. he did his job and it should be up to the other 24 guys to get the win. but no Potato has Clay hitting right now so all our points are moot. just gotta cross our fingers and 7th inning melt down doesn't happen here...

most disturbing thing about the Game 1 melt down was that it happened against end of the order.
He should be getting Cespedes next inning….so let's see

Keep something else in mind….it was 97 degrees in LA for Game 1….Game 1 of the 2014 NLCS (Cardinals) had similar temperature.

I don't think Kershaw is as fatgiued/ uncomfortable as he was in Game 1.

AND CAN WE PLEASE PUT UP SOME MORE RUNS?

Another Bad Break

Post#220 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 14, 2015 2:14 am

I can't blame Kershaw for that. Cespedes flies down the line and Clayton had to hurry the play and the ball just fell short of his glove. Just bad luck, but it continues to play into the narrative of bad things unfolding for Kershaw in the 7th inning and beyond in postseason play.

My heart paused a bit on that long fly ball out to **** in CF. One more out to overcome the 7th inning demon.
