Walking Heyward
I hope it works out, but I'm not sure if I like walking a struggling Heyward for a chance at the double play for the righty-vs.-righty matchup. Obviously, I hope it works out.

Loading the bases with an intentional walk to force the opposing manager to lift Chapman.

Missed Opportunity to Steal Game 1
This one is on Blanton. He just didn't execute his pitches. Dave set us up to be in a good position to steal this one. Blanton just choked this one away.

Playing with Fire
Like I said before, walking Heyward for a chance at the DP was not something I would have approved of, but we were a pitch away from pulling it off but Blanton was not sharp. Maybe Roberts and Honeycutt should have seen that and pulled him instead of hoping he'd right himself. It'd be easy to blame Dave Roberts for this and he certainly put himself in that position, but I'm pointing the finger at Blanton for melting down when we needed him most while acknowledging that it's a bit tough to collect yourself with all those intentional walks.

Stepping Up for Competitive Greatness

If we keep fighting like we have been, we have a real good chance at winning this series, but players--all of hitters, fielders, and pitchers--need to execute. Like you said, Neddy, Seager being productive is a necessity. Grandal looks like a lost cause at the plate right now.
Maeda did a good job of settling down after the early innings and a lot of those runs scored were preventable if we were defensively competent since Kenta doesn't have the same sort of defensive support that Lester obviously did.

we have along with the starter Kershaw, have Wood, Jansen, Avilan, Urias, and Fields fresh and Blanton and Dayton available. we have got to get our regular lineup against RHP to get our way in game 2 before we fly back home.

Silver Lining
I will say this: I do have more confidence in the Dodgers' ability to beat the Cubs after this loss than I did coming into the game. Hopefully, the other Dodgers follow A-Gon's lead in being motivated with the knowledge that we can, in fact, beat them to advance to the World Series.

To claw back and tie it at 3... Then to have that happen...
Can't blame Roberts for the move to get chapman out.
Didn't expect to win game game. Onto game 2

Re: 2016 postseason game thread
Sorry guys. Was out of town for the night. So, unfortunately, I had to watch the playoff game around a bunch of people and all them got to see me get hyped to tie the game and they all saw me get the heart ripped out of me.
Their bullpen is overrated. This is the 2nd time Maddon had to go for a 6 out save. Neither time worked If you're going for a 6 out save after getting 6 innings from your starting pitcher, you don't have faith in your pen. It doesn't matter what their ERA is.
I like how Dave managed that. I may have opted for a lefty but I trust Blanton and I'd trust him TONIGHT if it had to happen.
Neddy, I completely agree. Last night as a frustrating game. Tons of balls lined right at infielders and Dexter Fowler (who is not known for his defense, sorry Fox Sports 1). I was even watching the bottom of the 9th with cautious optimism because Rodon did nothing but give up hard contact and LUCKILY got out of it. I didn't have high hopes for that game but once I saw all the liners at IFers and Javy Baez get a run on a bloop because we played the infield in, I got angry and wanted that game more than ever. I thought we'd get it but oh well.
Kershaw...you're playing with house money. Nobody thinks we can do it.
Relax. Bring all your pitches with you. Locate that fastball...and dominate these guys.

Re: 2016 postseason game thread
sick of the joke that is the Fox Sports One programming. the Curious Case of the Cubs? GTFO. Cubs sucked because they had cheap low class ownerships over the years who didn't want to invest in their product. City of Chicago without a champioship? LMAO WUT? the 90s Bulls? 80s Bears? various rise of the Blackhawks? all those Commish's trophy the Whitesox have won over the years? only Chicago team without a 'ship is the WNBA's Sky.
and somebody give that bozo a pocket full of chips and a direction to the nearest indian casino. I am done with Petey Bow-tie.

we established a few things last night.
#1, Jon Lester is not invinsible. we hit him hard, and if we see him again, we can fleece him.
#2. Gonzo caught up to that 100 mph fastball of Chapman and hit it right down the middle. he didn't push it, he wasn't guessing and got lucky pulling blindly. he aimed for it, made the contact at the right angle, and did not lift it or beat it into the ground. he got the sweet spot of the bat, maybe slightly below, but I was very impressed that he did not just swing and miss it. I was very afraid, have been thinking his bat speed has been slowing down for the last few years but each time he proves me wrong, at least when we needed him the most. his leadership alone, as the TV was showing him talking to Puig before Yasiel's bat, tells me Gonzo's leadership maybe worth keeping him through the end of his contract, as long as we have someone to spell him and share the at bats. preferably a righty who can doulbe as a professional pinch hitter, in the form of Olmedo Saenz.
#3. I did not like that the plan did not work out, but I like the fact that Dave is methodical when it comes to his decision making skills. he ceratinly is not one of 'the "Gut Feeling" guys like Dusty. in a bigger sample, the consistently right decision making will percevere.
#4. their situational lefties do not scare me. I think the Nationals actually had more effective lefties, they were just getting misused. I would not assume the same with Maddon but I don't believe he has better tools to work with.
okay, 10 minutes to go. love Snoop's prediction. we are gonna make this happen!!!! where is Pantone 294? I wanna see our guys cheering the **** out that stadium!
