****'s Appearance

Post#402 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:44 am

I'm a little late saying this but I really like that **** is in the outfield right now after pinch-hitting for Granderson earlier. I wish he played more to be honest.

We’re waiting for Grandy to have a clutch moment so Dave can say “see...I told ya all along.”

I’m not as interested.

Verdugo should settle the LF. I love ****, but his best role is as the ultimate utility with 350 at bats a season playing everywhere.

Toles is a very good player, but I feel his injury this year has weakened his chances as he only had 1 good season under his belt, and proved to have no power. Verdugo's arm alone is a major upgrade, and he has shown he can hit with decent power, even if that power comes mostly in doubles. I still love Toles too tho. the best way to handle it is to have them compete in spring training, but Alex comes in with much more accolades as a highly touted prospect, where as Toles was that guy once, but failed and was even out of league at one point, just to come back with vengeance but proving that he has no power.

having said all that, I would love to have Toles as our 4th OF after Verdugo/Taylor/Puig or 5th is Pederson is still with us.

Choice Bullpen Options

Post#413 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 5:03 am

Maeda and Watson are both active in the pen. I have to say having Morrow line up against Arizona's best hitters instead of saving him for the 8th inning was the right call.

Do you let Morrow go hitter by hitter for the 8th?

He’s dealing

Morrow Dilemma

Post#416 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 5:09 am

I'd rather limit his innings even though I trust him more than anybody outside of Jansen for the 8th inning. With only a 2-run lead, I'm leaning towards Maeda and Watson depending on the handedness of the hitters.

To be honest, I'm conflicted. I want to assure that we close out this game rather than risk playing more games and taxing the bullpen, but I do want to preserve Morrow as much as possible given his previous injury issues.

Well, Logan Forsythe = no Morrow.

I’d like Morrow to get the 8th.
Forsythe is up with no one on.

I dont trust Kenta at all if he’s getting the 8th.

Only reason Dave feels even half way comfortable doing this is cuz he’s actually comfortable asking Kenley to get 6 outs.
