Think I’d prefer Kershaw in this spot but whatever. If we do our job, this shouldn’t be a big deal.
Yeah, I see the logic of going with Kershaw in Game 2 to leverage our advantage given that Chicago's Game 1 starter will probably be John Lackey given their liberal usage of pitchers in their NLDS games, but if starting Kershaw in Game 1 of the NLCS practically assures us a victory, we shouldn't look a gifted horse in the mouth, I guess.
Like I've said before, I'd prefer to have Darvish in Game 2 where he can benefit from the home crowd as I feel better with Hill on the mound in Wrigley Field than I do with Yu. Maybe the anticipated humidity in Chicago was a concern for Rich's blister issues.
I am leaning on Jose Quintana for the game 1. I know he pitched for 2/3 of inning last night but it was only 12 pitches, they can consider that a bullpen session in between starts. I can't imagine the Cubs knowing they have Jake Arrieta, Jon Lester, and Kyle Hendricks ready for game 2 through 5, that they would let Lackey be the game 1 starter over Jose Quintana.
as for Darvish starting game 2, I want him in that spot only if we lose game 1. if we win the game 1, I want the next best option behind Kershaw to to open up the Chicago home games. besides, Rich Hill's split for home versus away games are
