Went to watch Clipper game so I didnt do my full sweep of reading Dodger forums and checking post game comments.

Doubling back.
I think we need to re-sign Kenley.
I'm gonna bet on that cutter not going away. I don't want to be flippant about it anymore. He's pretty much money.

Was Wood the BP Pitcher in Atlanta or What?

Post#588 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 20, 2016 12:35 am

I miss the first 4 innings of the game and we're down 4 runs already? What the hell is going on with Wood?

Edit: Seager then flubs a groundball to keep the inning alive. One more out, fellas.

Some balls had eyes.
Some balls beat the shift.
Then there's some unnecessary walks mixed in.

It's more frustrating to watch (if you catch my drift) than him getting smacked around the park.
But Wood is definitely culpable here.

Had 17-18 tickets left for your family eh?
What a show you put on for them.

Familiarity with Adversary

Post#591 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 20, 2016 12:48 am

I see. Thanks for the update, Quake. I guess the Braves know how to gameplan for Wood being familiar with him during his time in Atlanta...Joc just got a leadoff infield single to start the 5th inning.

One of the things I hated about the 2015 Dodgers and what looks like it's going to be the 2016 Dodgers is there inability to come back in games.

I don't think we had any come backs last year. There's some stat about that....whatever.

This team just has no concept of chipping away at a baseball game. It's like if we get down by 4+ runs, the team will automatically start trying to get all 4+ runs back in one inning and end up failing every time up.

Any 4-0 or 5-0 lead we blew in SF, the Giants chipped away at it before blowing our doors off.
A run here. A run there. Some bullpen and we can win these type of games.

Can Doc Roberts Fix What Ails Dodgers?

Post#593 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 20, 2016 1:21 am

That has been a concern of mine as well, but I'm hoping Dave Roberts will change that attitude and mentality. After all, he's a former player who made his way as a scrapper...Justin Turner with another error at 3B.

Chris Withrow

Post#594 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 20, 2016 1:51 am

Withrow comes into the game for the Braves. Man, I miss this guy. I hated it when we traded him, but accepted it given his injury, contract situation, and lack of space on the roster at the time. I still wish he was on our team, though.

I know Alex pitched well the last start he got, but other than that the other 3 starts so far has been a disaster. IF Alex does not accept being demoted to the pen once any one of the other starters return, as Ross Stripling seems to have anchored himself in our back end of the rotation, he would have to be a trade bait. I like him to be a set up man. I think his 2 pitch reperatoire will serve him well in a single inning situation and he can revv up more MPH on his fastball too.
ehhhhh f it.

This was his 3rd start.

I wont defend him anymore. But I will cheer for him.
What an unbelievable way to start a road series after beating your rivals at home.

Mum on a Stripling innings limit.
200 might be too much though.
Potential bullpen role for Ross.

Missed It By That Much

Post#598 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 20, 2016 11:56 pm

Seager just missed hitting a monster shot out for apparently the 2nd time today against the Braves.

I missed his first AB.

I think you missed the first 4 innings of last game right?
He hit the exact same shot yesterday...foul.

Extremely frustrating and tantalizing for Dodger fans who want some offense now.
