Actually, 3B coach Chris Woodward waved him in. To be honest, I was thinking he should have gone too to test the White Sox's center fielder's arm. However, like you said, both Woodward and I was way off base on the call.

Well, Seager just hit a home run that would have driven Yasiel in so that makes it even worse.

I cancelled the direct TV and now own a streaming service. I am sure my game viewing is about a minute behind the real world. glad I did not see this update before i got to watch what actually happened.

PS- I built a half court in my backyard when my daughter was playing, but she quit as soon as I finished the court... now she has a boyfriend and too busy being a teen..... and my son is a swimmer and made his team (which I am very proud) but he had to quit baseball as the seasons overlap each other....

5-1.

I think it is highly likely that we have gained our 65th win of the year.

Maeda Making Progress

Post#627 » by Ranma » Thu Jul 20, 2017 1:54 am

Neddy wrote:... and as we speak, Maeda is quietly throwing a very good game and if you negate his HR given up, he has been impressive once again.

what we need out of Maeda isn't mechanical, or more pitch types. it is his mental approach to the game.

i can't believe that came in 2000, as the early 90s dodgers sported Karros, Piazza, and Mondesi. there was even a season when we added Todd Zeile in 97.

with all the positives that Maeda has, he does not have any faith in his own stuff. as (once upon a time) being a kid who threw nothing but junk and still won games, I have to say that pitching is all mental. I had a fastball that was my peers' change up at best, and with a knuckle ball and a slurve, I never thought I was ever in a situation to lose games when I was on the mound. Maeda has a very good set of "stuff". he just needs to grow a pair and trust in his own stuff.

if we have starting pitchers we can afford to get past 100 pitch counts, they are Maeda and Ryu.

Barring an epic collapse we will face the WC winner (Dirt Bags? Rockies? Brewers?)

The Nats will face the NL Central winner.
Cubs? Brewers?

Not the worst spot to be in.

I am incredibly surprised about Thames' success and his Brewers. I can't understand why his power would translate to the MLB but not Park who is in AAA of the twins franchise.

McCarthy has the win streak in jeopardy early.

Mcarthay getting rocked

5 runs thru 3 innings

Get him out of there!
Dodgers can come back from 4 runs in 6 innings

Can't let him get tagged for a couple more
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

McCarthy Screwed the Pooch

Post#639 » by Ranma » Fri Jul 21, 2017 4:57 am

McCarthy was indeed quite disappointing. We can't rely on him as a postseason starter at this point unless he turns it around for the rest of the season, but even then, I'd have doubts.

Neddy mentioned before how Maeda needs a sports psychiatrist. Well, maybe we'll get a discount if we also enroll McMarthy for sessions.
