I might have. Dayton looked sharp. I wasn't that worried by the double. I might have stuck with him.

I would have preferred not to use Jansen too but this game is too important to mess around with, so I'm cool with going to him. He should still be ready for tomorrow if we need him to close out a single inning.

The Wild Stallion is Loose

I'm glad to see Puig getting his 2nd hit. He was getting antsy at the plate after starting the postseason patiently with drawing walks. Reddick actually looked more prepared as a batter than Puig recently, especially after Yasiel popped up that bunt attempt in Game 1 for the out.

Now he scores from 1B on that double by Joc. This is what makes him such a big X-factor for us. And now Pederson just swiped 3B. I love that we're employing a running game on our opponents.

great steal there by Joc to be able to come home with that infield grounder. no way Jansen gives up 6 runs with just 3 outs to go.
ehhhhh f it.

Some Social Media Unrest

Post#660 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 19, 2016 3:23 am

Some people on Twitter are calling for the Dodgers to pull Jansen. I get where they're coming from but I approve of Roberts having Kenley close it out. He's already up and warm and him finishing off the game would be a minor psychological edge in the minds of the Cubs' hitters the next time they face him but every little bit helps. Why even contemplate messing with things and possibly, however unlikely, give the Cubs a glimmer of hope of building momentum and adversely affecting our mentality?
