I know what you meant, but there is no playing clock in baseball, we have enough innings and outs left to come back...

just saying.

So do you guys think Yaz is making the right calls or do you think it's just the pitchers misplacing pitches?

I didn't like his pitching sequence. after two fastballs for strikes, you either call another fastball away from the zone in different height to change the eye level or throw a breaking ball or change up in the same height but make sure they drop down further. he called neither and got smashed with that first run giving up single, then called five consecutive fastballs before getting smashed. that's a real no no.

Urias' pitching radius was also very tight. it would be a good thing if he was shooting rifles but not when you are pitching.

and there goes Angel Hernandez, that was low.

my god. four straight change up and the last one wasn't even close. I thought it was gonna be a fastball out of the zone but damn that was a terrible at bat by Grandal.

Yaz watching nice pitches... Not the time to be a perfectionist.

Like I said last night, 5 worst umps in baseball today,

5. Gary Cederstrom
4. Eric Cooper
3. CJ Buckner
2. Angel Hernandez ( he moves from #3 to #2 with that call against Turner for subjective reasons)
1. still the reigning champ, Joe West.

he probably missed the timing with that first pitch. if he was looking for a change up that was a hanging pitch right down the middle.

I miss the old school baseball.

you get a guy like Rizzo crowding the plate, you aim for his head until he learns his lesson.

another bad call by Grandal... sigh... maybe Ruiz should catch tomorrow but he doesn't know our staff as well.

don't bring up Ellis, he was terrible with defense, throw to second, framing, and yes pitch calling.
